DOMINGGO SA PAGKABANHAW

IN PHOTOS | Easter Sunday Celebration at San Luis Gonzaga Parish – Tigao.

At the break of dawn, the faithful gathered in joyful hope to celebrate the risen Lord through the Sugát — the solemn encounter of the Risen Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary — a moving proclamation that sorrow has turned into joy and death into life. From this encounter flowed the celebration of the Holy Mass, where hearts rejoiced and voices proclaimed the victory of Christ over the grave.

Filled with light, song, and thanksgiving, the community celebrated the dawn of new life, rejoicing in the hope fulfilled: Christ is risen indeed.

“Why are you looking for the living among the dead? He is not here, He is Risen!”
— Luke 24:5

SABADO DE GLORIA 2026

IN PHOTOS | The celebration of the Easter Vigil on the Holy Night — Black Saturday — at San Luis Gonzaga Parish – Tigao.

In the quiet darkness of the night, the Church gathered in hope, keeping watch as creation awaited the light of the Resurrection. With the blessing of the new fire and the lighting of the Paschal Candle, the Vigil began as darkness was gently pierced by a new light — a powerful sign of Christ, our true hope, whose resurrection dispels the shadows of sin and death and leads humanity toward renewed life.

As the Word of God was proclaimed and salvation history remembered, the blessing of the new water followed, symbolizing cleansing, rebirth, and the gift of new life in Christ. Through this living water, the faithful are reminded that in the Resurrection, all are invited to begin anew — restored, renewed, and made alive in grace.

From silence into song and from waiting into joy, the Easter Vigil becomes the Church’s passage from death to life. As the Alleluia resounded once more, the community rejoiced in the Risen Lord, proclaiming that light overcomes darkness, hope triumphs over despair, and new life is forever found in Christ.

SURREXIT CHRISTUS, ALLELUIA!

BIYERNES SANTO 2026

IN PHOTOS | Rev. Fr. Ronald Josoy led the Good Friday Liturgy of the Passion of the Lord and the Veneration of the Cross at San Luis Gonzaga Parish – Tigao on April 3, 2026.

Good Friday stands as the most solemn day of the Church year — a day of silence, remembrance, and profound love. It recalls the crucifixion of Jesus, where suffering was transformed into salvation and the Cross became the ultimate sign of self-giving love.

Through the Via Crucis, the reflections on the Seven Last Words, the solemn procession of the Santo Entierro, and moments of deep and quiet prayer, the faithful walked spiritually with Christ in His passion. In every step, every prayer, and every bowed head before the Cross, hearts were united with the suffering Lord — contemplating a love willing to endure everything so that humanity might be redeemed.

In the stillness of Good Friday, the Church does not merely remember the Cross; she stands before it, allowing its mystery to speak of mercy, sacrifice, and hope born from love.

HUWEBES SANTO 2026

IN PHOTOS | The solemn celebration of Maundy Thursday on April 2, 2026, at San Luis Gonzaga Parish – Tigao.

Marking the beginning of the Paschal Triduum, Holy Thursday recalls the Washing of the Feet and the Last Supper of the Lord — sacred moments that reveal the depth of Christ’s self-giving love. In the Eucharist, Jesus offers not merely a symbol, but His very self, becoming both host and sacrifice, a love poured out for the life of the world.

Through the humble gesture of the Washing of the Feet, the faithful are reminded that authentic discipleship is lived in service, humility, and charity toward one another. The institution of the Eucharist draws the Church into communion — a love received so that it may also be given.

As the faithful keep watch in prayer before the Lord, Holy Thursday invites every heart to remain with Christ, contemplating a love that gives without measure and prepares us to journey with Him through His passion, death, and the hope of resurrection.

KUMPISALAN SA PAROKYA 2026

On Maundy Thursday afternoon, the faithful of San Luis Gonzaga Parish – Tigao gathered in prayer as the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament was solemnly held, inviting everyone into silence before the Lord. A penitential rite followed, gently leading hearts to reflection, repentance, and sincere conversion.

Thereafter, the priests from the Vicariate of San Nicolas de Tolentino administered the Sacrament of Reconciliation, welcoming parishioners who came not in perfection, but in humble acceptance of their human weakness. In the quiet encounter between penitent and confessor, God’s unfathomable mercy was made visible through the ministry of the Church, reminding all that grace meets us precisely where we are most fragile.

In the stillness of that sacred afternoon, burdens were surrendered, hearts were reconciled, and hope was renewed—an intimate reminder that God never tires of forgiving, and that every return to Him is already embraced by His love.

IN PHOTOS | RITES OF BLESSING OF THE SANTO ENTIERRO

In a solemn rite of blessing, the parish welcomed its newly acquired image of the Santo Entierro, now prepared to take its place in the Good Friday procession. The sacred image draws the faithful into contemplation of Christ’s complete obedience to the Father — a love made visible in His willing acceptance of death on the Cross for the salvation of humanity.

More than a devotional image, it stands as a testament to the unity and generosity of parishioners whose shared offering made its acquisition possible. As it journeys through the streets this Holy Week, the Santo Entierro invites all to reflect on the silent power of sacrificial love — a reminder that in Christ’s surrender, humanity finds redemption and hope.
