ASH WEDNESDAY || Today, we begin our Lenten journey, a season of prayer, fasting, and repentance. As ashes are placed upon our foreheads, we are reminded of our humility and our need for God’s mercy.

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” -Genesis 3:19

May this day renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and lead us closer to Christ through sacrifice and sincere conversion.

RITE OF BURNING OF PALMS || At the SAP Ground on February 17, 2026, following the Holy Mass, the traditional Burning of Palms was led by Rev. Fr. Vicente Badajos in preparation for Ash Wednesday. The blessed palm branches from last year’s Palm Sunday were reverently burned, and the ashes will be used for the imposition of ashes at the beginning of the Lenten season.

These ashes signify our human frailty, call to repentance, and journey of conversion, marked with the words: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

All are invited to prayerfully examine their lives and renew their commitment to God as we enter this sacred season of Lent.

Tayo po ay sama-samang magsimula ng banal na panahon ng Kuwaresma sa pamamagitan ng panalangin, pag-aayuno, at pagkakawanggawa.
