MINIS-3 MISCONCEPTIONS:
(A Gentle Reminder for Ministry Volunteers)
Serving in church is a beautiful "calling".
But let’s be honest—sometimes, along the way, we get tired, misunderstood, or even misaligned. And that’s okay. It doesn’t make you a bad servant—it just means you’re learning the curves of ministry.
First and foremost, we should remind ourselves:
Ministry is not just handing a hand to help
but it is more on handling hearts and dying of oneself.
You lead while you bleed.
You serve the undeserved.
You care but they don't care about you..
Ministry is sacrifice, but take heart, your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
- 1 Corinthians 15:58
This truth is distorted when the following misconceptions occur:
DISCLAIMER:
This is not a call-out.
It’s a call back—back to the heart of why we started.
❤️ #1 DISTORTION: “MEnistry”
(When Serving Becomes About "Me")
Isang sakit na nakakahawa sa ministry ang
"Acolagy" o AKO LAGI
-ako nalang..
-ako padin!
-ako naman........
-ako talaga?
There are moments when, deep inside, we hope to be noticed… appreciated… affirmed.
And that’s not wrong—we all need encouragement.
But ministry becomes lighter when we remember, we were never serving for "applause", but from LOVE.
-Love for God
-Love for His people
-Love for His work
📖 “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31
Even the unseen acts, the quiet sacrifices, the moments no one claps for—God sees them all.
💛 Gentle Reminder:
You don’t need a spotlight to be significant in God’s kingdom. When people sees your appearance, God sees your heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)
❤️ #2 DISTORTION: “MEANistry”
(When Pressure Affects Our Attitude, we become "mean")
Sometimes, it’s not that we want to be harsh or to be mean with others—it’s just that we’re tired, pressured, or carrying too much.
We didn’t mean to sound impatient..
We didn’t mean to come off strong..
We didn't mean to offend anyone...
Yet things sometimes get out of hand..
And the good news?
God is still working in us,
for us and through us...
📖 “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” — Ephesians 4:32
Ministry is not about being perfect in attitude—it’s about allowing God to soften our rough edges as we continually serve.
💛 Gentle Reminder:
Grace isn’t just something we receive—it’s something we give, especially on hard days. So let us be willing to forgive those who hurt us at times, just as Christ has forgiven us.
❤️ #3 DISTORTION: “mINIStry”
(When Serving Feels Heavy, nakaka-inis)
There are days when ministry feels more like a responsibility than a joy.
You show up… but your heart feels tired.
You serve… but you feel empty.
If that’s you, pause—not to quit, but to reconnect.
📖 “Come to me, all you who are weary… and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
God never asked you to serve Him while running on empty. He invites you to be filled first.
💛 Gentle Reminder:
You are not just a worker in God’s house—you are His child. Rest is part of your calling too.
Dear volunteer,
God is not measuring you by how flawless your service is—He treasures your heart, He rewards your hard-work, He is glorified with your fruits.
He sees your effort.
He understands your struggles.
He honors your faithfulness.
👉🏿You may be FITfull (too much responsibility to fit on)
👉🏿You may be PITfull (too much temptations to struggle with in order not to fall from God's glory)
👉🏿But God expects you to be FAITHfull (to remain in faith and obedience)
MINISTRY IS MINISTRY, it is from the word "diakonia" meaning SERVICE.
it is not MEnistry
it is not MEANistry
it is not mINIStry
it is SERVICE
📖 “Let us not become weary in doing good… at the proper time we will reap a harvest.” — Galatians 6:9
Take heart of this:
“Ministry is not about getting it all right—it’s about staying close to the One who makes everything right.”
