Late have I loved you, Beauty so ancient and so new, late have I loved you! - St. Augustine

We know that God continues to reveal Himself to us. Unfortunately, most of the times we are like Augustine who were outside of himself. Thus, we are called to grow in awareness of our loving God who desires all of us.

This three-day onsite seminar-workshop will help us grow in awareness of God's presence in our lives as we learn to accompany others in their search for God.

Santo Niño Kaplag: Finding God in Our Everyday Life

Today, the Santo Niño Spirituality Center held a Day of Recollection with the theme "Kaplag: Finding God in Our Everyday Life" as part of the annual celebration of the Feast of the Kaplag Festival on April 28.

The recollection gathered members of the Cofradia del Sto. Niño de Cebu - Mother Chapter and Ecce Homo Chapel in San Fernando, Greenhills, religious sisters, lay collaborators (Lectors and Cantors at the Santo Niño Spirituality Center, Associates of St. Rita), and the youth of Brgy. Tolotolo, Consolacion. Through prayer, reflection, and meaningful faith sharing, participants were invited to reflect on the historical and spiritual significance of the finding of the image of the Santo Niño de Cebu and how this event continues to inspire the devotees in their search for God in everyday life.

Fr. Ric Anthony Reyes, OSA facilitated the morning input session where he traced the historical background of the feast and shared its spiritual dimension through the lens of Augustinian spirituality. In the afternoon, he presided over the Eucharistic Celebration, concelebrated by Fr. Jack Luna, OSA and Fr. Candido Saladaga, OSA. Participants were also given time for silence, personal prayer, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

One of the missions of the Santo Niño Spirituality Center is to promote the devotion to the Santo Niño de Cebu through meaningful formation programs and spiritual exercises.

Day of Recollection on the Conversion of St. Augustine

The Santo Niño Spirituality Center, in collaboration with the Commission on Community Life and Ongoing Formation of the Augustinian Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu, successfully held a Day of Recollection with the theme: “The Conversion of St. Augustine and Our Restlessness Today.”

This meaningful gathering was held in celebration of the 1,640th anniversary of the conversion of St. Augustine, inviting participants to reflect on their own journey of faith and stories of ongoing conversion.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Nestor Bandalan, OSA, for his generosity and spiritual accompaniment in facilitating the recollection.

Religious sisters, brothers, and lay collaborators spent the day immersed in prayer, reflection, and faith-sharing, deepening their awareness of God’s presence in their lives and responding to the restlessness of the human heart.

This recollection was made possible through the kindness and generosity of the benefactors of the Santo Niño Spirituality Center. We sincerely thank all our donors for journeying with us in our mission of ongoing formation for clergy, religious, and the lay faithful.
