St. Gregory the Great was a man of leadership who chose to leave a life of power and privilege to serve God. He became a Benedictine monk, a priest, and eventually Pope, dedicating his life to the Church and to the people of Rome.

As pope, Gregory cared deeply for the poor, the sick, prisoners, and those suffering from persecution. He also sent missionaries to England and worked to strengthen the Churchโ€™s teaching and worship. Through his preaching and pastoral writings, he helped guide both clergy and faithful in living the Gospel.

Known for his wisdom, humility, and strong sense of service, St. Gregory became one of the four great Doctors of the Western Church. His life reminds us that true leadership means serving others with faith, courage, and compassion.

Blessed John Francis Burtรฉ and his companions were faithful priests and religious who gave their lives for Christ during the French Revolution. They refused to take an oath that denied their faith and remained steadfast despite imprisonment and persecution.

Along with Blessed Appolinaris of Posat, Blessed Severin Girault, Blessed John Baptist Triquerie, and many other clergy and religious, they courageously remained faithful to God until martyrdom.

Their lives remind us that true faith requires courage, perseverance, and loyalty to Christ, especially during times of trial. May their witness inspire us to remain firm in our faith and faithfully follow God's will.

Remembered as one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, St. Giles was especially invoked by those seeking help in times of illness and suffering. He became known as a patron of the poor and people with disabilities, reflecting his compassion for those most in need.

His life reminds us that holiness is found in humble service, compassion, and trust in God. May his example inspire us to care for the poor and suffering and to remain faithful to God in every circumstance.
