Why do we call today "๐™‚๐™ค๐™ค๐™™" ๐™๐™ง๐™ž๐™™๐™–๐™ฎ" when it marks such a somber event? ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

It is "๐™‚๐™ค๐™ค๐™™" because it marks the moment where hope entered the world through the ultimate sacrifice. Itโ€™s the day love outshined the darkness, proving that no soul is too lost and no debt is too great to be forgiven. Today is about the bridge built between heaven and earth.

Love is an action. The biggest lesson of Good Friday is that true love isn't just a feelingโ€”itโ€™s a choice to show up, even when it costs everything. It challenges us to look at our own lives and ask:

Following the Mass of the Lordโ€™s Supper this Holy Thursday, the Blessed Sacrament will be carried in a solemn procession to the Altar of Repose. This specially prepared place within our churches symbolizes the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus invited His disciples to "watch and pray" with Him.

We invite all the faithful within our Vicariate to spend time in silent adoration. The Altars of Repose will be open for visitation across our 11 parishes and 1 pastoral station:

As we draw closer to the death of our Lord and the eventual joy of Easter, we pause to reflect on the model Christ gave us in the Gospel of John (๐˜‘๐˜ฐ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฏ 13:1-15).

During the Last Supper, Jesus rose from the table, laid aside his outer garments, and tied a towel around his waist. He poured water into a basin and began to wash the feet of every disciple. Though they called him "๐™ˆ๐™–๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง" and "๐™๐™š๐™–๐™˜๐™๐™š๐™ง," he took the role of a servant to set an example, so that his disciples might do the same for one another.

Yet, Christ shows us that true leadership is found in service. He chose this path to teach us that humility is the ultimate victory over pride.

๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™›๐™ž๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ฉ ๐™‡๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š: Jesus washed the feet of all his disciplesโ€”including Judas Iscariot, whom He knew would soon betray Him. This demonstrates that His love is not based on merit, but is given freely to all. He calls us to do the same: to love our neighbors even when it is difficult

Marking the close of Great and Holy Lent, the Paschal or Easter Triduum is the Churchโ€™s most solemn celebration, ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐˜€๐˜‚๐—บ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฌ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ. In fact, it is more important than Christmas, because it commemorates the central mystery of the Christian faith.

During these holiest days, the Church enters into the Passion, Suffering, and Death of the Lord Jesus Christ, and then rejoices in His glorious resurrection, the triumph of the Holy Cross and Christโ€™s definitive victory over sin and death. This is the very reason why Christmas happened: Christ was born so that He might redeem the world.

The Paschal Triduum begins with the Evening Mass of the Lordโ€™s Supper on Holy Thursday and concludes with the Easter Vigil Mass. Though it spans three chronological days, it is liturgically celebrated as one continuous day, unfolding before us the unity and fullness of Christโ€™s saving work.

We are now on the fourth day of Holy Week. As we journey toward the joy of Easter, todayโ€™s Gospel (๐‘€๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’๐‘ค 26:14-25) stops us in our tracks with a sobering reality: the betrayal of Judas.

As we enter the third day of Holy Week, we reflect on the solemn narrative of Holy Tuesday. In todayโ€™s Gospel (John 13:21-33, 36-38), we return to the scene of the Last Supper. Here, Jesus makes a staggering announcement: one of the Twelve will betray Him.

When Jesus identifies Judas by handing him the morsel of bread, He says, "What you are going to do, do quickly." While the other disciples were confused by these words, the stage was set for the ultimate betrayal. Yet, the Gospel also reveals Peterโ€™s overconfidence. Despite Peter's bold claim that he would lay down his life, Jesus foretells a different reality: Peter would deny Him three times before the c**k crows.

The invitation today is to recognize these "Judas-like tendencies" within ourselvesโ€”not to dwell in shame, but to bring them to the light of Godโ€™s grace.

The true difference between Judas and Peter was not the gravity of their sin, but their response to it. Judas allowed guilt to turn into despair. Peter allowed his failure to lead him back to Christโ€™s mercy.

No matter how far we feel we have fallen, let us never lose hope. Godโ€™s mercy is always greater than our mistakes.
May you reflect deeply today on the message God has placed in your heart.

Today marks the second day of Holy Week, known as Holy Monday. In todayโ€™s Gospel (๐ฝ๐‘œโ„Ž๐‘› 12:1-11), we find Jesus at the home of His friend Lazarus. As they shared a meal, Mary of Bethany approached Jesus and anointed His feet with a costly, genuine aromatic nardโ€”a perfume worth three hundred days' wages. In a profound act of humility, she then dried His feet with her own hair.

She sacrificed a small fortune and her own social dignity to honor Him. True worship and devotion are born from sacrificeโ€”remaining faithful even through pain, loss, and suffering. This Holy Week, let us offer our own "extravagant" devotion to Christ, giving Him the very best of our hearts.๐Ÿ”ฅ

He questioned the waste of the oil, claiming it should have been sold for the poor. However, the Word reveals he said this not out of charity, but because he was a thief. Let us remember that while doing good is right, our motives matter most. Do not seek to appear "great" in the eyes of others; instead, act for the greater glory of God, seeking to be holy and zealous in spirit.๐Ÿ˜‡

May you reflect deeply on todayโ€™s Gospel and receive the message God has placed in your heartโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ
