Long before every note was sung to us by the new voices, there were the melodies that built the foundation, The Marvelous Singers of 1980s formed at Maparat General Baptist Church. They poured their lives, their faith, and their whole hearts into every harmony. They were more than a choir; they were a family bound by devotion, fellowship, and lifted by the joy of serving the Lord through singing.
As we look back at this performance, we’re not just watching a video, we’re witnessing a moment frozen in time where every smile, every harmony, and every breath of worship reminds us of the way they touched hearts and brought us closer to God.
And with that remembrance comes a tender ache for the voices we can no longer hear yet always remain in our memories.
In the quiet spaces of our hearts, we honor Bro. Esmeraldo Cagape, Bro. Tito Maputol, Bro. Eli Curay, and Mrs. Merlyn Maputol, faithful voices of the original Marvelous Singers who have now joined the heavenly choir. Their absence is felt deeply, like a missing note in a song. Yet their legacy continues to resonate, full of warmth, passion, and praise.
Today, we remember them with gratitude, with love, and with a longing that turns into hope. For every song sung today carries a piece of their story. Every harmony is an echo of their impact. And every new generation that rises stands on the shoulders of their faith and dedication.
Now as the torch is being passed down to the next generation, we carry with us not just the harmony but the foundation built strongly by the past and the passion and purpose of giving glory and honor to the Lord.
