Three days. Three graces. One Church journeying in hope.

A HISTORIC THREEFOLD CELEBRATION FOR THE CHURCH OF NUEVA SEGOVIA

The Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia enters a remarkable moment of grace as it celebrates three significant ecclesial milestones:
1. the Metropolitan Synodal Exchange of the Clergy of the Metropolitan Province of Nueva Segovia,
2. the Episcopal Ordination of Most Rev. Nick Argel Vaquilar, D.D., Fourth Bishop of Urdaneta, and
3. the 75th Anniversary of the Elevation of Nueva Segovia as an Archdiocese.

These sacred events beautifully proclaim the living Church: united in communion, enriched by apostolic succession, and strengthened through the faithful witness of generations.

As one family of faith, let us raise our hearts in gratitude to God, whose providence continues to shape the mission of His Church in Northern Luzon and beyond.

The Metropolitan Cathedral and Parish of the Conversion of St. Paul invites all the faithful to participate in the celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) on 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 7, 2026.

Following the 5:00 PM Holy Mass, a Eucharistic Procession will take place through the streets of our city as a public profession of our faith in the Real Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.

Let us gather as one community of believers, united in prayer and devotion, to honor the Eucharistic Lord who continually nourishes and sustains His Church.

Participants are kindly requested to wear white and/or yellow attire and to bring candles for the procession.

With praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God, the clergy, religious, and lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia cordially invite everyone to the Episcopal Ordination of Most Rev. Nick Argel Vaquilar, who was appointed by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV as Bishop of the Diocese of Urdaneta.

The ordination will be conferred through the imposition of hands and the prayer of ordination by His Eminence Orlando Cardinal Quevedo, OMI, DD, Principal Consecrator, together with Most Rev. Marlo M. Peralta, DD and Most Rev. Jacinto A. Jose, DD as Co-consecrators. The homily will be delivered by Most Rev. David William V. Antonio, DD.

The Episcopal Ordination will take place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 9:00 in the morning, at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Charity, Parish of Saint Augustine of Hippo, Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

We invite the faithful to join us in this joyful and historic celebration as we pray for Most Rev. Nick Argel Vaquilar and his new ministry as Bishop of the Diocese of Urdaneta. May your presence and prayers be a source of encouragement and blessing on this special occasion.
