The Salvation in this Love

1.A SOBERING CONDITION

“perish” - what it means
-- The Greek word translated “perish” is ἀπόληται (apolētai), from apollumi. It carries the idea of being destroyed, ruined, lost, or brought to destruction.

In John 3:16, it is not talking merely about physical death. Jesus is contrasting perishing with everlasting life.

We need rescue in our condition for we are all sinenes

2.A SURE CONDEMNATION

Why do we need to be saved?

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” - John 3:18
— their refusal makes their condemnation certain
— deliberate rejection

a. Hell is a real judgment

Hell is presented in Scripture as a real place
Jesus spoke of hell more than heaven
Jesus was extremely serious about it

b. Hell is a ravaging judgment

Hell was so serious Jesus suffered and died

> Hell is a restless place

> Hell is a reminiscing place

> He is a regretful place

c. Hell is a relentless judgment

d. Hell is a righteous judgment

3.A SECURING CHRIST

The answer is not found in religion or baptism or good works its found on Jesus Christ alone!

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." - Isa.53:5

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." - John 5:24

1.SIMPLICITY IN ITS SCOPE
“Whosoever”

The first word is one of the most encouraging words in the entire verse:
“Whosoever.”

If I were a sinner looking for hope, I would want to know: Does God’s invitation include me?

If you are alive in planet earth today you are a candidate for God’s love and salvation

And because God loved the world, the invitation is extended to whosoever.
Anyone can come.

“Whosoever surely meaneth me”

2.THE SIMPLICITY IN IT’S STIPULATION
“believeth”

God’s grace provides salvation.
Faith receives salvation.

It is not something we earn.
It is something we receive.

Christ has done what we could never do.

God will never force His love on you

He offers His love - the cross is proof
— But you cant have what you dont receive

3.SIMPLICITY IN ITS SPECIFICITY
“in Him”

Faith is not enough if the object of that faith is wrong.

Jesus Christ is not the best way to heaven He is the only way to heaven

Our salvation does not depend upon how impressive our faith is.
It depends upon the One in whom our faith rests.
And Jesus Christ is worthy of our trust.

Closing:

"Just As I Am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh, Lamb of God, I come..."

“Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.”

God’s love will prove useless to those who do not believe

Christian gospel is for the whole world
But just because God offers you His love doesnt mean you that get His love because to get His love you have go receive it - reach out your hands and take it!
