Today, we celebrate the birthday of our Father and Teacher of the Youth, St. John Bosco.

Don Bosco dedicated his life to young people, especially those who needed someone to guide, understand, and believe in them. He taught us that being there for the youth is not only about teaching them, but also about loving them, listening to them, and helping them become better persons.

His simple way of being close to the young continues to inspire us until today. Through his example, we are reminded that every young person has a purpose, a dream, and a place in God’s plan.

As we celebrate his 211th birthday, may we continue to carry his spirit in the way we serve, guide, and care for one another.

August 15, 2026 | Today, we celebrate the Feast of St. Tarcisius, the Patron Saint of Altar Servers, and the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

We are happy to share this special video greeting from our Provincial Superior of the Salesians of Don Bosco – Philippines South Province, Rev. Fr. Mel Racelis, SDB.

In his message, Fr. Mel shares a part of his story when he was also an altar server at Don Bosco Mandaluyong. His experience reminds us that sometimes, a simple act of serving at the altar can become the beginning of a much bigger journey with God.

St. Tarcisius showed us what it means to serve with courage, faith, and love. May his example inspire all our altar servers to continue serving with a joyful heart, even when things are not always easy.

Today, we also honor Mama Mary on her Assumption into Heaven. May her example teach us to trust God, say β€œYES” to Him, and follow His plans for our lives.

To all our altar servers, never think that your service is just a small thing. Every time you serve at the altar, you are giving your time, your effort, and your heart to God.

May the story of Fr. Mel, the example of St. Tarcisius, and the faith of Mama Mary inspire us to keep serving, keep believing, and keep saying "YES" to God.

Saint Tarcisius was a young Roman Christian who served the early Church. According to tradition, he was carrying the Eucharist to Christians who were imprisoned when he was confronted by a group of people. He refused to hand over the Blessed Sacrament and was attacked and killed while protecting it.

Today, we honor St. Tarcisius, whose courage, faith, and love for the Eucharist continue to inspire altar servers everywhere. May his example remind every Knight of the Altar to serve with humility, reverence, and a faithful heart.

May St. Tarcisius guide and protect all those who serve at the altar.

Everyone enjoyed the delicious Halang-Halang cooked by our parent member, Mrs. Bebegil β€œMama Shang” Cabusas.

The boys were happy to eat, talk, and spend time together with their fellow brothers.

Sharing some photos from our KOA Fellowship today at Don Bosco Youth Center – Lourdes!

Our members were divided into 4 groups, and each group played all the Larong Pinoy games β€” Bahaw-Bahaw, Patintero, Labo-Labo, and Tsinelasay! πŸ˜‚

There was a lot of running, shouting, laughing, and cheering! πŸ˜† But most of all, everyone had fun and enjoyed spending time together.

It was a simple activity, but it helped us become closer as friends and as one KOA family.
