When temptation becomes strong, will I follow my desires or choose to obey God?🧐

In 2 Samuel 13:14 say that..
"But Amnon would not listen to what she said. He was stronger than she was, so he overpowered her and r***d her."

💚2 Samuel 13:14 reminds us that not every desire should be followed. Amnon allowed his feelings and selfish desires to control him, leading to a painful and sinful decision. This teaches us that when we let our emotions rule our actions, we can make choices that hurt ourselves and others. True maturity is knowing when to stop, control ourselves, and choose what honors God.

YOU KNOW WHAT?!☺️
Not every desire deserves to be followed. Temptation may feel powerful, but God has given you the strength to say NO. One moment of giving in can create consequences that last far longer than the temptation itself. When your desires fight against what is right, choose God over your feelings, obedience over temptation, and self-control over regret.

HOW CAN WE APPLY THIS ON OUR LIFE??!🧐
💚PRACTICE SELF-CONTROL: Don’t let emotions or desires control your actions.
💚PAUSE AND PRAY: Before making a decision, ask God for wisdom and guidance.
💚CHOOSE WHAT IS RIGHT: Even when temptation is strong, choose obedience to God.
💚PUT GOD FIRST: Let God’s Word guide your choices instead of your desires.

A Heart of a Disciple 🌱

A disciple is not simply someone who follows Jesus—it is someone whose heart is continually being shaped to become more like Him.

7 Characteristics of a Disciple’s Heart
1. A Heart That Loves Jesus First
Matthew 22:37
A true disciple puts Jesus above popularity, success, relationships, personal desires, and everything else.
Heart Check:
Are you truly in love with God? Is Jesus really first in your life?
2. A Teachable Heart
A disciple has a heart that is willing to learn, grow, receive correction, and be transformed.
Being teachable means remaining humble enough to admit that there is still more to learn.
3. A Heart Willing to Follow
Luke 9:23
Following Jesus requires commitment—even when the journey becomes difficult.
A disciple chooses to follow Christ not only when it is convenient, but also when it requires sacrifice, obedience, and surrender.

4. A Loving Heart
A disciple reflects Jesus through kindness, forgiveness, patience, and compassion.
A disciple should not be easily angered or hold grudges.

Our love for Jesus should be evident in the way we treat people.
5. A Faithful Heart Despite Failure
John 21:17
Failure does not disqualify us from being used by God.
Just as Jesus restored Peter and continued to entrust him with a purpose, God can still use imperfect people who are willing to return, learn, and remain faithful.
6. A Heart That Trusts God
John 20:28
A disciple continues to seek Jesus even when there are questions, doubts, or things they do not fully understand.
Faith means choosing to trust God even when we cannot see the whole picture.

7. A Servant’s Heart
A true disciple does not live only for themselves but looks for ways to serve, encourage, protect, and bless others.

Life is not always easy. Hurt, pain, loss, disappointment, betrayal, and even our own mistakes are part of the human journey. There will be moments and experiences that break us—things we often wish we could avoid.
But while these things are real, God’s presence is also REAL. ❤️

Job experienced unimaginable loss—his health, children, wealth, and so much more. Yet in the middle of his suffering, God remained present, purposeful, and powerful.

3 Truths When Life Hurts:

1. Pain is part of the process.(Job 1:20–21; Job 23:10)
God can use even our deepest pain to refine and strengthen our faith.

2. God is near to the brokenhearted. (Psalm 34:18) When your heart is hurting, remember—you are never alone. God draws near to those who are broken.

3. Hope remains beyond the hurt. (Romans 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:17)
What we are going through today is not the end of our story. There is glory beyond the pain.
So when life hurts, don’t run from God—run to God.

Surround yourself with people who will pray for you, encourage you, carry your burdens, and stay beside you in difficult seasons. (Galatians 6:2)

Whatever you are facing today, keep trusting. Keep praying. Keep believing. God is still there, even in the middle of the pain. 🌱

Am I willing to let go of what I am capable of doing and trust God when His plan is different from what I want?🫣

In 1 Chronicles 28:2 CEV say that...
"After everyone was there, David stood up and said: Listen to me, my people. I wanted to build a place where the sacred chest would be kept, so we could go there and worship the Lord our God. I have prepared all the supplies for building a temple."

🌿What strikes us is that David had the capacity and the resources to build the temple, but he chose to obey God’s command. Sometimes in our lives, we may have the ability, resources, connections, and opportunity to do something. We may even think, “I can do this. I have everything I need.” But having the ability to do something does not always mean that God has called us to do it. There will be moments when God asks us to step aside, wait, release something, or allow someone else to accomplish what we thought we would do.

In those moments, obedience is more important than our ability. We may have the means, but God’s Word must always prevail. David could have insisted because he was the king. He had already prepared everything. But instead of pursuing what he wanted, he honored what God commanded.

YOU KNOW WHAT?!💚
🪴Sometimes, we may have the ability, resources, and opportunity to accomplish something, but God may have a different plan for us. Like David, we need to understand that having the capacity to do something does not always mean we are called to do it. God’s plan is greater than our own plans, and obedience is more important than proving what we can accomplish.

HOW CAN WE APPLY THIS TO OUR LIFE?!🌿
-May the word of God will always prevail in my heart than my ability and capacity.

True surrender is not simply saying, “I will follow You, Lord.”
It is saying: “Lord, I will follow You even when it is difficult. I will choose Your purpose over my own plans. I will not keep looking back at my old life. My life belongs to You.”

Growing Beyond Spiritual Growth 🌱

Hebrews 5:12
Spiritual growth is more than simply knowing more about God—it is becoming more like Christ and learning to live out what we have received.
Spiritual growth requires time. Maturity doesn’t happen overnight.

Spiritual immaturity keeps us dependent on the basics. We must be willing to grow deeper in our faith.

Spiritual growth comes through “solid food.” We grow as we learn, understand, and apply the deeper truths of God’s Word.

Maturity means becoming a blessing to others. We are not meant to keep what God has taught us to ourselves.

How can we grow spiritually?
🌱Study the Word of God
🌱Practice what you learn
🌱Develop a strong prayer life
🌱Remain in Christian fellowship
🌱Serve others
🌱Accept correction

Spiritual growth is not only for our benefit. God grows us so that we can become a blessing to others. 🌱
Don’t just grow in knowledge—grow in maturity.
Grow deeper. Live it out. Be a blessing. ❤️
