MISSION THAT HEALS– PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭
Vocational Ministry – At the Heart of Our Camillian Charism.
Vocational Ministry is the Church's work to educate and accompany adolescents and young people on their journey of faith, so that they can discover their personal vocation and make a free, informed, and responsible choice.
For us, the Daughters of St. Camillus, this mission takes on a profound and concrete meaning: helping young people recognize the call to love and service in the dimension of mercy, care for the sick, and dedication to the least fortunate, according to the spirit of St. Camillus de Lellis and our founders. Through meetings, testimonies, moments of prayer, and service, we accompany the new generations in discovering their vocation, in the joy of self-giving, and in the experience of a God who continues to call, even today, generous hearts ready to "put more heart into our hands." (St. Camillus de Lellis)
In this section of the website, we want to share experiences, articles, and stories of the missions and vocational activities our sisters carry out around the world, alongside young people, to sow hope and discernment.
The Daughters of St. Camillus bring the Gospel of care: visits to the sick, health care training, and listening to the forgotten.
Where it all begins: homes, not classrooms.
Here in the Philippines, we don't hold meetings to "talk about vocation." We enter homes. With the permission of the bishop and parish priest, we knock on the doors of those who are sick, alone, or fragile. And we don't go alone: many young people and lay people walk with us.
Young People on the Front Line
They are often the ones organizing, guiding us in the villages, breaking the silence with a smile. We don't "use" them for the mission: we live the mission with them. Between one visit and the next, friendships are born, real questions are asked, and time is given without calculation.
Because works speak louder
We don't explain what the Camillian charism is: we put it into practice. When you dry a tear, when you listen, when you pray beside a bed, the Gospel is visible. And it is there that many young people say: "I want to live like this."
From Mindanao, for everyone
It happened recently at the Señor Santiago Apostol Parish in Compostela, Davao de Oro, Mindanao. But it's not just a place: it's a way of life. Because wherever there is someone to love, there is room to serve. And when you serve with joy, life itself becomes a testimony.
