GRWM | GOSPEL REFLECTION WITH ME

Reconciliation starts with humility. Jesus calls us not to vent or retaliate when hurt, but to seek peace directly and in love. Healing relationships takes courage, but when we come together in unity and prayer, Christ is right there in our midst.

How can you choose peace and restoration in your relationships today?

Jesus said to his disciples:
“If your brother sins against you,
go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.
If he listens to you, you have won over your brother.
If he does not listen,
take one or two others along with you,
so that ‘every fact may be established
on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church.
If he refuses to listen even to the church,
then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.
Amen, I say to you,
whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, amen, I say to you,
if two of you agree on earth
about anything for which they are to pray,

FIRST WEDNESDAY MASS

We cordially invite all Visayanians to join us in a Holy Mass this September 2, 2026 at 4.p.m. at the Alliance of the Two Hearts Chapel together with the College of Maritime Education as the pilgrim sponsor.

Before the Holy Mass, their will be a devotional Novena in honor to Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

Let us together experience this blessed time of prayer as we unite in faith and devotion under the loving guidance of our Blessed Mother.

TAKE COURAGE, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD

On August 31, 2026, student volunteers from the UV Campus Ministry joined the annual gathering of the Archdiocesan Campus Ministry for PAKIGHIMAMAT 2026, hosted at Southwestern University PHINMA.

Student leaders from various schools, colleges, and universities across the Archdiocese of Cebu came together for a meaningful day of prayer, reflection, and fellowship. The event officially commenced with the celebration of the Holy Mass, anchoring the gathering in the central sacrament of the Church.

A key highlight of the day was an empowering talk by Rev. Fr. Samuel Mary Leidel, CSJ, titled "TAKE COURAGE." Fr. Samuel offered profound reflections on what it truly means to stand firm, hold onto faith, and take courage amidst the challenges of today's uncertain world.

GRWM | GOSPEL REFLECTION WITH ME

As we reflect on today's Gospel, we are reminded that following Jesus by carrying our own crosses is not punishment, it's about purpose. He also did not ask to carry it on our own, for he is with us alway through every test, struggle, and step of our student journey.

Jesus began to show his disciples
that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly
from the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes,
and be killed and on the third day be raised.
Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him,
“God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.”
He turned and said to Peter,
“Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me.
You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”

Then Jesus said to his disciples,
“Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself,
take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life?
Or what can one give in exchange for his life?
For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father’s glory,
and then he will repay all according to his conduct.”
