The Salesian Music Ministry is the Official Music Ministry arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco in the South where it aims to compile, archive, publish, perform and promote songs written by Salesian Priests, Brothers, and Lay Affiliates. It also envisions to assist, educate, and enhance the different music ministries under the Salesian Houses.

PENTECOST | Today, May 24th, coinciding with the anniversary of the founding of the Salesian Music Ministry, we celebrate the birth of the Catholic Church, known as Pentecost.

Pentecost is a Christian feast that occurs 50 days after Easter Sunday. It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, as described in the Book of Acts. In Catholic teaching, it is seen as the moment the Church began its public mission in the world.

The event is marked by the apostles receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is considered one of the most important celebrations in Christianity because it highlights the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit in the Church.

๐’๐Ž๐‹๐„๐Œ๐๐ˆ๐“๐˜ ๐Ž๐… ๐Œ๐€๐‘๐˜ ๐‡๐„๐‹๐ ๐Ž๐… ๐‚๐‡๐‘๐ˆ๐’๐“๐ˆ๐€๐๐’ | Today, May 24, we celebrate the solemnity of Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians, the principal patroness of the Salesian Society and the Help of Christians, our Mother Mary.

This feast highlights Maryโ€™s powerful intercession and her role as a protector and helper of all Christians. It was especially promoted by St. John Bosco, who had great devotion to Mary under this title. The Salesian family considers her their mother and guide in their mission to educate and care for the youth.

The title โ€œHelp of Christiansโ€ reminds the faithful that Mary always leads people closer to Jesus and supports them in times of difficulty.

Today, we commemorate the ๐„๐‹๐„๐•๐„๐๐“๐‡ ๐˜๐„๐€๐‘ ๐€๐๐๐ˆ๐•๐„๐‘๐’๐€๐‘๐˜ of the ๐’๐€๐‹๐„๐’๐ˆ๐€๐ ๐Œ๐”๐’๐ˆ๐‚ ๐Œ๐ˆ๐๐ˆ๐’๐“๐‘๐˜; 11 years of serving through music, dedicating our gift of music to spread the message of love among the ๐’๐€๐‹๐„๐’๐ˆ๐€๐ ๐‚๐Ž๐Œ๐Œ๐”๐๐ˆ๐“๐˜.

This ministry has given us the opportunity not only to share our musical talents, but more importantly, to serve God and the community through music. Over the years, it has helped us grow in faith, humility, and service. Every song we sing is a simple offering of praise and gratitude to God, using the gifts He has entrusted to us to inspire and uplift others.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those individuals who have contributed and supported us throughout these 11 years; our families, mentors, Salesians, friends, patrons, and communities. Your prayers and support motivated us in performing our acts of kindness and serving God with love and dedication.

LOOK | Rev. Fr. Randolph Figuracion, SDB, Founder of the Salesian Music Ministry and Vice Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco โ€“ Philippines South Province (FIS), is currently in Rome for the Formation of Vice Provincials.

During this significant gathering, he had the opportunity to meet with the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Rev. Fr. Fabio Attard, SDB.

The Salesian Music Ministry continues to offer its prayers for the success, strength, and safety of our beloved founder, Fr. Randy, as he faithfully undertakes this important responsibility.

May the Lord bless and sustain him throughout this journey, and may he be guided by the loving intercession of Mary Help of Christians and the inspiration of Saint John Bosco.

MELODIESโ€ฆACROSS BORDERS | Last March 24, 2026, the combined choral groups of Koro Teknoy of the Cebu Institute of Technology โ€“ University and Saint John School of Guam, together with the Huni Bosco and DBTC Rondalla of Don Bosco Technical College โ€“ Cebu, held a humanitarian concert at the newly inaugurated DBTC โ€“ Cebu Bugsay Auditorium.

This meaningful event was organized by the Salesian Music Ministry in support of the DBTC Scholarship Program.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all individuals and organizations who reached out and purchased tickets in support of this concert. Each ticket contributes directly to the benefit of Bosconian scholars, helping sustain their education and future.

BLACK SATURDAY | In the silence of our hearts, we await His glorious Resurrection.

Black Saturday is the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, marking a time of quiet reflection and waiting. It commemorates the period when Jesus Christ lay in the tomb, and His disciples mourned His death. On this day, the Church remains in solemn silence, with no celebration of the Eucharist until the Easter Vigil. It is a time for prayer, contemplation, and hope, as the faithful prepare for the joy of the Resurrection. The stillness of this day reminds believers of the darkness before the triumph of light and life.

GOOD FRIDAY | At the hour of 3, Jesus on the cross, tired and suffering, sighed His final words, โ€œIt is finished,โ€ bowed down, and died.

Based on the Catholic Church (Catechism of the Catholic Church and the liturgy of Holy Week), Good Friday is the day when Christians solemnly commemorate the Passion and death of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is part of the Sacred Paschal Triduum, the three most sacred days in the Catholic liturgical year.

On this day, the Church remembers that Jesus freely offered His life for the salvation of all humanity. His suffering and death are seen as the perfect sacrifice of love and obedience to the Father. The Catechism teaches that through His Passion, Christ redeems humanity from sin and restores the possibility of eternal life with God.

Good Friday is also marked by a unique liturgy where the Mass is not celebrated. Instead, the Church holds the Celebration of the Lordโ€™s Passion, which includes the reading of the Passion narrative, the Veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion from hosts consecrated on Holy Thursday.
