“He began to send them out two by two.”

Jesus sends the disciples out with simplicity, teaching that mission starts with trust rather than comfort. They carry no extra provisions, only faith and purpose. This shows that God’s work does not depend on what we have, but on our willingness to go. Obedience becomes an act of courage.

The Gospel highlights the power of being sent together. Walking in faith is not meant to be done alone, especially when challenges arise. Rejection may come, yet it does not cancel the mission. God’s presence remains with those who move forward with humility and perseverance.

Today invites reflection on where faith is calling action. Growth often begins when comfort is released. Trusting God step by step opens unexpected doors. Purpose unfolds when faith is lived out with courage and consistency.

• Responsorial Psalm, Psalm 32:1-2, 5, 6, 7
• Gospel, Mark 6:1-6

“He was amazed at their lack of faith.”

Returning home should feel familiar, yet Jesus is met with doubt instead of trust. The people struggle to see beyond what they already think they know about Him. Their hearts close not because of lack of miracles, but because familiarity limits faith. Sometimes the greatest barrier to belief is assuming we already understand everything.

This Gospel speaks to how easily comfort can turn into resistance. When God shows up in ordinary places or familiar faces, expectations can shrink. Faith requires openness, not certainty, and trust grows when we allow God to work beyond our assumptions. Grace often waits on willingness.

Today offers a quiet challenge to examine the heart. Faith deepens when pride softens and curiosity stays alive. God still moves, speaks, and heals where trust is welcomed. Openness creates space for something new to begin.

• Gospel, Mark 5:21–43

“Do not fear, only believe.”

Faith meets courage when desperation drives action. Jairus runs to Jesus for his daughter, and a woman reaches out in hope for healing. Their stories show that even in fear or uncertainty, belief can move mountains. Trust becomes a bold step forward, reaching for what seems impossible. God responds to hearts that dare to act.

This Gospel reminds that waiting is not weakness. Healing and restoration often take time, yet persistent faith can overcome obstacles. Jesus honors both the urgency and the patience in their faith. Miracles are not just about power but about connection, hope, and unwavering trust. Every act of faith opens the door for grace.

Today encourages taking steps toward hope, even when answers feel distant. Courage does not wait for certainty but moves with trust in God. Small acts of faith can bring profound change. Believing opens space for God’s work to unfold in life. Bold trust invites life beyond fear.

Feast of Our Lady of Candles | February 02, 2026

The Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Candles, honoring Mary as a guiding light who leads the faithful closer to her Son. Her title reflects how she illuminates our hearts with hope and faith, offering comfort and protection in times of darkness and uncertainty.

This celebration then invites us to reflect on how we carry the light of Christ in our own lives. By following Mary’s example of devotion and trust, we are encouraged to shine with love, kindness, and faith in our families and communities. May Our Lady of Candles continue to guide us and keep our hearts full of light and hope.

“My eyes have seen your salvation.”

This moment in the temple is quiet but powerful. Simeon and Anna recognize what others easily miss, God at work in something simple and small. Their long waiting turns into joy because they stayed faithful even when fulfillment felt far away. Hope grows strongest in hearts that keep trusting.

The Gospel highlights patience as a form of courage. God’s promises unfold in their own time, not rushed and not delayed. Simeon’s peace comes from seeing God’s faithfulness, not from having everything figured out. Faith does not demand speed, it chooses trust.

Today invites slowing down and paying attention. God often shows up in ordinary spaces and gentle moments. When faith stays steady, even waiting becomes meaningful. Seeing with hopeful eyes changes how life is received.

• Reading 2, 1 Corinthians 1:26-31
• Gospel, Matthew 5:1–12a

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Jesus begins by lifting up those the world often overlooks. The Beatitudes speak to hearts that are humble, gentle, and open to God’s work. True blessing is not about status or comfort, but about living with sincerity and trust. Strength is found in humility, and joy grows in quiet faith. God’s kingdom belongs to those who know their need for Him.

This Gospel shifts how success and happiness are understood. It honors mercy over power and righteousness over recognition. Those who choose kindness, patience, and compassion may not always be noticed, but they are deeply seen by God. The promises Jesus gives are not shallow rewards but lasting hope. Blessings grow where love leads.

Today is an invitation to live differently in a loud and fast world. Choosing humility, mercy, and peace can feel challenging, yet it shapes a meaningful life. Even small acts rooted in love carry eternal value. God’s favor rests on hearts that choose faithfulness over pride.

• Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 51:12-13, 14-15, 16-17
• Gospel, Mark 4:35–41

“Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?”

A sudden storm turns fear into panic as the disciples struggle against the waves. While chaos surrounds them, Jesus remains calm, showing that peace does not depend on circumstances. Faith is tested most when control feels lost. Trust grows when fear is faced honestly. Calm begins when hearts turn toward God.

This Gospel highlights how easy it is to believe when life feels stable. The storm exposes hidden doubts and unanswered questions. Jesus responds not with anger, but with an invitation to deeper faith. His presence does not remove every storm, but it changes how storms are faced. True trust learns to rest even when answers are unclear.

Today becomes a chance to reflect on personal storms. Fear can speak loudly, but faith speaks with confidence and hope. Choosing trust does not mean fear disappears instantly. It means believing that God is present in every wave. Peace follows those who choose faith over panic.

MAG-AMPO KITA

O Señor Santo Niño, Ikaw ang among Hari ug among Dios, nagasimba kami Kanimo; Ikaw ang among malig-on nga Manlalaban.

Nangamuyo kami Kanimo, Señor Santo Niño: hayagi among salabutan, inita among kabubut-on, linisi among lawas, santosi among kalag.

Amen.

Diha nga magtugyan kami sa among kaugalingon ngadto sa Imong Malumo nga Gugma ingon nga among bugtong Dalangpanan,

Jesus, pamati-a kami.
Jesus, patalinghugi kami.

MAG-AMPO KITA

O Señor Santo Niño, nga nag-ingon Ka: “Pangayo ug makadawat kamo; pagtuktok ug ablihan kamo.” Amen.

KATAPUSANG PAG-AMPO

Amen.

+ Sa ngalan sa Amahan, ug sa Anak, ug sa Espiritu Santo. Amen.

Viva Pit Señor!

“This is how it is with the kingdom of God.”

Jesus describes God’s Kingdom as something that grows quietly and steadily. The seed is planted, and even when nothing seems to be happening, growth is already at work. Faith does not always come with instant results, but it unfolds in time according to God’s wisdom. Trust means allowing growth to happen beyond what can be seen. Patience becomes an act of faith.

The parable of the mustard seed highlights how small beginnings can lead to something greater. What starts unnoticed can become a place of shelter, strength, and purpose. God often works through simple acts, daily choices, and quiet obedience. Growth does not depend on size but on faithfulness. Small steps can carry lasting impact.

Today offers encouragement to stay faithful even when progress feels slow. God is working beneath the surface, shaping hearts and outcomes. Trusting the process requires hope and perseverance. What is planted with faith will grow in ways that matter.

“The measure you give will be the measure you get.”

Jesus speaks about light that is never meant to be hidden. What is received in faith is meant to be lived, shared, and seen through actions. Keeping the light to ourselves limits its purpose and impact. Faith grows stronger when it is expressed openly and sincerely. A lived faith naturally draws others toward hope.

This Gospel also challenges how seriously we listen and respond. Attention matters because what we value shapes what grows within us. Giving time, effort, and care to faith allows it to deepen and mature. What is nurtured daily becomes part of who we are. Consistency builds spiritual clarity.

Today invites a simple but honest check. Are we letting God’s light shape our words, choices, and priorities? Faith becomes brighter when it moves beyond intention into action. What we give to God returns with meaning and direction.

Feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Priest and Doctor of the Church | January 28, 2026

The Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas as a tribute to a mind devoted to truth and a heart rooted in faith. His love for learning and deep reflection on God show how reason and belief can work together in the search for wisdom and holiness.

This celebration then leads us to reflect on how we seek understanding in our own faith journey. When we follow his example of humility, study, and prayer, we grow closer to God and learn to live with clarity and purpose. May Saint Thomas Aquinas inspire us to pursue truth with sincerity and a spirit grounded in faith.

Saint Thomas Aquinas, Pray for us!

“Those sown on good soil hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit.”

Jesus uses the image of seeds and soil to explain how God’s word works in everyday life. The seed is always good, but the result depends on how it is received. Some hearts are distracted by worries, others lose interest when challenges appear. Still, there are hearts willing to listen deeply and stay committed. Growth begins when openness replaces excuses.

This Gospel speaks honestly about how faith can struggle in a noisy and demanding world. Pressure, fear, and constant distractions can slowly weaken spiritual focus. Faith needs intention, patience, and care to grow strong roots. When God’s word is welcomed and protected, it shapes choices and builds inner strength. Small daily decisions make a big difference over time.

Today offers a chance to reflect on what kind of soil we are becoming. God continues to plant seeds of hope, truth, and purpose in our lives. Choosing to nurture them allows faith to mature naturally. A willing heart creates space for real and lasting growth.
