Are You Saying Any Of These Phrases?
Some of these sound normal.
Some even sound wise.
But if they contradict Scripture, they are not truth.
Here are 5 common phrases that are biblically not true.
✨ “Follow your heart.”
Truth: Your heart can lie to you, God’s Word leads you.
Jeremiah 17:9
✨ “God knows my heart.”
Truth: He does, and He still calls you to repent and obey.
Acts 17:30
✨ “I’m a good person.”
Truth: Good is not the standard. Righteousness comes through Christ.
Romans 3:23
✨ “It’s not that deep.”
Truth: It is that deep. Your soul is more valuable than everything.
Matthew 16:26
✨ “Nobody’s perfect.”
Truth: True, but God still calls you to grow and turn from sin.
Romans 6:1–2
These phrases slip out casually.
But over time, they shape how you think about God.
Or you use these phrases as scape-goat to normalize sin or because you can't let go of a sin.
And if you really want to know what’s true, you can’t just repeat what sounds good.
You have to bring it back to what God actually said.
The best way to do that is by reading the Bible for yourself.
