𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | Members of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes from churches in Cebu celebrated the solemn feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. From votive Masses, novenas and rosaries, processions, sick visitations, among others, the Virgin of Lourdes was honored beautifully by her children - her sons and daughters in her confraternity.

Tungod sa gugma nga imong gipakaylap aa kalibutan ug gipakatakus mo ang pagpakita didto sa langub sa Lourdes aron sa pagtudlo sa batan-on ug malipayon nga Bernardita, nagahangyo ako kanimo nga makabahin unta ako bisan gamay niadtong kalipay sa bata. Ug kay ikaw, O Virgen, nagpagula man ug usa ka tubod sa tubig alang sa kaayohan sa lawas, nagpakilooy kami kanimo karon sa paghangyo sa imong Diosnong Anak nga bubuan unta niya ang akong kalag sa labing tam-is ug mabungahong tubig sa grasya aron mabanlasan ang mga paghilig ko sa mga kalibutanong butang ug malimpyohan ang makakasala kong kasingkasing, ug sa ingon maka-angkon ako sa labing putli nga kalipay sa langit. From the 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 established at the Lourdes Church of Intramuros, Manila under the administration of the Capuchin Franciscans (𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘻𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺), the devotion reached Cebu and Confraternities in honor of the Virgin of Lourdes were established.

In 2022, through the vision and efforts of Br. Ellis Mendez, the confraternities established in the parishes of the Archdiocese of Cebu were accounted and organized. Under his leadership, the first Archdiocesan Convention was held in 2023. And in 2025, in coordination with the Archconfraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes - Philippines headed by the National President Sis. Effie Milaflor, he, together with the Cebu officers and chapter presidents worked for the affiliation of 14 chapters.

Today, there are 𝟭𝟳 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes in the Archdiocese of Cebu.

𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐒 | 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬

Everyone is warmly invited to join the Fiesta Mass in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11 at 5:30 PM, celebrated in line with the World Day of the Sick.

There will be a Blessing of the Sick during the Mass and a Blessing of Water, as we entrust all who are suffering to the loving care and intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes, patroness of the sick and afflicted.

Let us come together in prayer, faith, and hope for healing, strength, and comfort.

Perhaps some people thought the daily virtual rosary of COLL-Buanoy and MOAS-Buanoy had ended, but thankfully, it has not. Hehe. The person responsible for posting the screenshots just got very busy.

What a blessing it is to be part of both ministries. They continue to do their best to grow spiritually despite the challenges of studies, relationships, work, and life in general. This shows that no matter what we go through, we always return to God.

Dear brothers and sisters, let us pray the Holy Rosary every day and always be thankful to the Lord, no matter how good or bad our day may be.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟓 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞

Perhaps you’ve heard of the Fifteen Promises of the Rosary. According to legend, Our Lady promised St. Dominic that she would pour out specific blessings upon those men and women who pray the Rosary daily.

In case you’ve never heard of them, here are the promises which Our Lady allegedly made:

𝟭. To all those who shall recite my rosary devoutly, I promise my special protection and very great graces.

𝟮. Those who shall persevere in the recitation of my rosary shall receive signal graces.

𝟯. The rosary shall be a very powerful armor against hell; it will destroy vice, deliver from sin, and dispel heresy.

𝟰. The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies; it will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world to the love of God, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. How many souls shall sanctify themselves by this means!

𝟱. Those who trust themselves to me through the rosary shall not perish.

𝟲. Those who shall recite my rosary devoutly, meditating on its mysteries, shall not be overwhelmed by misfortune. The sinner shall be converted; the just shall grow in grace and become worthy of eternal life.

𝟳. Those truly devoted to my rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

𝟴. Those who faithfully recite my rosary shall find during their life and at the hour of their death the light of God, the fullness of his graces, and shall share in the merits of the blessed.

𝟵. I shall deliver very promptly from purgatory the souls devoted to my rosary.

𝟭𝟬. The true children of my rosary shall enjoy great glory in heaven.

𝟭𝟭. What you ask through my rosary, you shall obtain.

𝟭𝟮. Those who propagate my rosary will be aided by me in all their necessities.

𝟭𝟯. I have obtained from my Son that all the members of the Rosary Confraternity shall have as their intercessors, in life and in death, the entire celestial court.

𝟭𝟰. Those who recite my rosary faithfully are all my beloved children, the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.

𝟭𝟱. Devotion to my rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Main Character Syndrome at the Altar: Are You Serving God or Just in Costume?

Let’s get real.

The sanctuary is not a stage. The cassock and surplice are not costumes. And the altar is not your spotlight.

When you serve at the altar, you stand at the foot of Calvary. You’re not there to be seen. You’re there to disappear, so that Christ may be seen.

But nowadays, it’s heartbreaking—and frankly, infuriating—how some altar servers carry themselves like celebrities. Heads held high for clout, not humility. Hands folded not in reverence, but for the perfect aesthetic. One eye on the priest… the other on the crowd… and your thoughts? On your next TikTok or Instagram post.

Main character syndrome has infected the sacred.

Let me tell you the truth you might not want to hear:
If you're serving for attention, admiration, or validation from others—you are not serving God.
You're serving yourself.
You're idolizing your ego.
You’ve turned the house of God into your personal runway.

That cassock and surplice you wear? It’s not a fashion statement. It symbolizes purity, service, and death to self. But if you're more concerned about how you look than how you kneel… then you’re wearing sacred garments with a dirty heart.

This is not a game. This is not cosplay.
You are handling the things of God. You’re standing where angels bow in fear.
Do you even tremble anymore before the altar? Or are you just trying to look cool for the crowd?

The altar is holy ground.
Don’t climb it with pride in your heart and fame in your eyes.
Because one day, you will be judged—not by how many views you got, but by how deeply and humbly you served.

So ask yourself:

Am I serving God, or am I just in costume?
Am I imitating Christ, or am I performing for people?

If that question makes you uncomfortable… good. That means there’s still a voice in you calling you back to reverence. Back to true service. Back to the heart of worship.

It’s time to strip away the pride.
Stop being the main character, and start being the servant.
Because in God’s house, the only spotlight belongs to Christ on the cross.
And if you’re not pointing to Him—you’re in the way.

Repent. Reflect. Return to the altar not to be seen, but to serve.

This is not your show. This is His sacrifice.
