Battle of the Bands Rules, Regulations and Scoring Criteria
1. Participating Church or Project must buy 50 tickets for the Battle of the bands @ P50.00 each and is
2. This will serve as registration fee and is non-refundable.
3. Net proceeds of this event will go to the Building fund of Cebu Bethel Temple for the Ministries Multi – Purpose Building.
4. All competing bands are strongly encouraged to partake in ticket sales for the advantage of crowd applause, which will be one of the criteria for which judging is based.
5. Ticket sales is non-refundable under all circumstances, including withdraw from the competition.
6. “Praise Fest” finalist (5-7) bands must play 2 songs, one original composition and one praise song. All competing bands must submit their entries with their list of performers to PH923 “Praise Fest” Committee, Ms. Lisette Marie Torres @ Cebu Bethel Temple on October 5, 2012.
7. Each Band’s set must fill appropriately 10 minutes but must not exceed 15 minutes.
8. Any distasteful behavior, and or damage to Cebu Bethel Temple will result in an automatic disqualification by management and judges.
9. Each competing Band receives three complementary tickets in order to gain awareness and build their fan-base for the event; all other tickets will be full price for the rate of Php 50.00, General admission.
10. Judging is done on a 1-10 scale by 5 qualified judges, the 4 criteria on which the bands will be judged are explained below. The final criteria, however, will be crowd reaction so bring your youths!
11. The Project Committee will not be held accountable for any broken equipment, injuries, or any other negative occurrences outside of our Staff’s control.
12. The winner of “Praise Fest” will be asked to play an encore after the final judgment for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
Judging Scale and Criteria:
1. Music – (This criteria is based in clarity, lyrical contest and over all musical performance) 1-10.
2. Stage Presence and Crowd Interaction ( This criteria is based on how will the band
“Praise out” and how will the band connects God with the crowd) 1-5.
3. Appearance and Personality (This criterion is based on the overall look and personality. If you want to be in Praise Band, you need to look the part) 1-5
4. Original Material (this criterion judges the most important part of your act, your original material! Band want to show originality ( Cebuano or English) in both their lyrical and instrumental performance to impress the judges) 1-10
5. Crowd Applause (The key ingredient to Praise the Youth! ) 1-20
