🌱 Working Together for a Cleaner, Greener, and More Sustainable Cebu City 🌱
Guided by a shared vision of environmental responsibility and community well-being, a meaningful forum on Solid Waste Management was recently held with Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival. The discussion brought together religious leaders, community representatives, barangay officials, environmental advocates, and waste management stakeholders to explore collaborative solutions and work toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.
Fo Guang Shan Cebu Chu Un Temple was honored to participate in this important exchange. Representatives in attendance included Venerable Miao Jing of Chu Un Temple, temple officers and members, representatives from the BLIA Cebu English Chapter, and Mr. Junrey Alayacyac, Executive Director of Guang Ming College Cebu. Their participation reflected a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, civic engagement, and the shared responsibility of caring for our communities.
Upholding the spirit of Humanistic Buddhism and guided by the Three Acts of Goodness Do Good Deeds, Speak Good Words, and Think Good Thoughts, Fo Guang Shan Cebu Chu Un Temple continues to promote environmental education and sustainable living practices, transforming care for people, society, and the planet into meaningful action. The dialogue highlighted the importance of unity, education, and active participation in addressing the challenges of waste management.
Through collaboration among government agencies, religious organizations, educational institutions, and local communities, we believe that more meaningful and long-lasting solutions can be achieved. As we continue on the path of protecting and cherishing our environment, may we transform concern into action, awareness into responsibility, and vision into positive change. 🌱 攜手共創更潔淨、更翠綠、更永續的宿霧市 🌱
本著對環境責任與社區福祉的共同願景，日前與宿霧市市長 Nestor Archival 舉行了一場富有意義的「固體廢棄物管理」座談會，匯聚了宗教界領袖、社區代表、村里官員、環保倡導者及廢棄物管理相關人員，共同探討合作方案，為打造更潔淨、更永續的未來而努力。
佛光山宿霧慈恩寺非常榮幸參與此次重要交流活動。出席代表包括慈恩寺妙靜法師、寺院幹部與會員、國際佛光會宿霧英文分會（BLIA Cebu English Chapter）代表，以及宿霧光明大學執行長 Junrey Alayacyac 先生。他們的參與展現了對環境保護、公民參與及共同守護社區責任的高度承諾。
秉持人間佛教精神，並以「三好運動 做好事、說好話、存好心」為指引，佛光山宿霧慈恩寺持續推動環境教育與永續生活實踐，將對人群、社會與地球的關懷化為具體行動。
此次交流特別強調團結合作、教育推廣及積極參與的重要性，以共同面對廢棄物管理所帶來的挑戰。透過政府機構、宗教團體、教育單位及地方社區之間的攜手合作，我們相信能夠實現更具意義且長遠的解決方案。
