Helping with chores can be a way of honoring your parents. You can also honor them by giving them HOPE:

H-ugs. Whether touch is your parents’ love language or not, hugging them can make them feel loved and appreciated. How about a high five or a pat on the back?

O-bedience. Children, you belong to the Lord, and you do the right thing when you obey your parents. (Ephesians 6:1) While you are dependent on and live with your parents, they have authority over your life; honor them through your obedience.

P-rayer. Ask your parents how you can pray for them or briefly pray for them aloud for strength, good health, peace of mind, and wisdom in their work and taking care of your family. Every parent would appreciate prayers especially from their kids.

E-ncouragement. You can encourage your parents through affirming and appreciative words. Try writing a short but sweet thank you message on a post-it-note.
