Apostolic Sisters of St. John - Cebu

Apostolic Sisters of St. John - Cebu They seek to witness to the Gospel's two-fold commandment : the contemplative commandment of loving God and its incarnation in fraternal charity.

In the footsteps of the Apostle Saint John, also known as the Beloved Disciple, “the Sisters seek to witness in today’s world, to the Love of Jesus for the Father and for all men. The Community of Apostolic Sisters of Saint John, founded in 1984 by Father Marie-Dominique Philippe, Dominican, belongs to the Family of Saint John which includes brothers, contemplative sisters and oblates. Following t

he example of John in receiving Mary at the Cross, the sisters receive Mary in their life. They ask her to help them keep their hearts constantly turned towards God and to bring about a true fraternal communion between them.

Maundy Thursday, we make memorial of the Last Supper or the institution of the Eucharist. The Apostles made their first communion, and became the new priests of Jesus Christ, the Eternal Priest.
Recently, ten children from Abraham Montessori school made their first communion, prepared by the sisters during the year. They had a last recollection the day before the Big Day. Thanks be to God for this beautiful sacrament of love!

Holy Week has started with Palm Sunday🌴
Jesus arrives in Jerusalem, riding a humble 🫏, people acclaim Him as King and lay their cloths on the road before him👕👗👚
We, too, bring our palms, to acclaim our divine King, our Savior!
Few pictures of the celebration!

Palm sunday marks the beginning of the Holy Week, leading to the Hightest Solemnity of our faith: Easter.
From the Passion to death and to Resurrection.
"Let us accompany Him as He hastens toward Jerusalem, and imitate those who met Him then, not by covering Hispath with garments, olive branches or palms, but by doing all we can to prostrate ourselves before Him by being humble and by trying to live as He would wish." (from a sermon by Saint Andrew of Crete, bishop)

We visited EcoVie Export corporation in Happy Valley: for many years, Stephane recycle the jus pouches into bags, wallet, banig! 70 people weave the products, in the traditional manner, from their home, and the bags are sent abroad to be sold. Their goal: to produce no waste, no garbage. they also recycle the sails of kite skate and diving suits. Philippines can be proud!
In the afternoon, we discovered San Carlos University in Talamban: a huge place, a lung of Cebu, indeed! and a beautiful place to study! Thanks to the brothers of SVD, celebrating already 150 years of mission, from everywhere, to everyone!!
