Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord,
And He ponders all his paths.
[Proverbs 5:21]👀
a. For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord: This is an important reminder for any man dealing with the temptation of an immoral woman. It is human nature to think that such a sin may be excused if it is never made public. We often think sin can be excused if it is undiscovered, and many have been exceptionally tempted by what they think is a “risk free” opportunity. Solomon rightly reminds us that God sees all our ways, and before Him no sin is hidden. God ponders all his paths.🌌

"Surely the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them, but this people has not obeyed Me." [Jeremiah 35:16]🤔
a. This people has not obeyed Me: A second contrast was evident in the way that the Rechabites obeyed the command of their father, while the people of Judah and Jerusalem disobeyed the commands of God Himself, though He repeatedly brought those commands to them through His prophets.
~The Rechabites obeyed a fallible leader; the people of Judah disobeyed the eternal God.
~The Rechabites received their command only once from their leader and obeyed; the people of Judah received their command from God again and again and still disobeyed.
~The Rechabites obeyed regarding earthly things; the people of Judah disobeyed in regard to eternal things.
~The Rechabites obeyed their leader’s commands over about 300 years; the people of Judah continually disobeyed their God.
~The Rechabites would be rewarded; the people of Judah would be judged.😎

For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
[Hebrews 2:18]👀
a. He Himself has suffered, being tempted: Some wonder if Jesus was really tempted. After all, since He was God (they reason), He could not sin — so His temptation could not be real. The writer to the Hebrews insists that not only was Jesus’ temptation real, but it was so real that He suffered under it.
i. Jesus knew the temptations of power and the temptations of pain. He knew the temptations of riches and the temptations of poverty. He knew the temptations of popularity and the temptations of rejection. He knew the temptations of the boy and the temptations of the man. He knew temptation from His friends and temptation from His enemies. He knew temptation from His family and temptation from strangers.✝️💝🩺
