𝐖𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭
A rest is equally important as a musical note. Music needs a pause for aesthetic functions and other reasons.

𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰
The whole rest or semibreve rest is a period of silence that corresponds in time value to a whole note.
It is drawn as a small rectangle that hangs off the fourth line on the musical staff and its height is half the distance between the lines. Others call it the upside down hat.

𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁
Is your life moving pretty fast though the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt in almost everything?
The pandemic forced companies to retrench their employees. Many events were cancelled or postponed. Both young and old must adjust to the online classes and work from home set up.
In this new normal, it’s undeniable that we are even more preoccupied. When you leave home, you need to plan everything that you need to do and you must bring your new daily must haves- a face mask, face shield and hand sanitizer. When will this restlessness ever end? Are you waiting for travel bans to be lifted so you can go for a vacation?

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻
𝗜𝗳 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼. Your time to sleep everyday may not be enough to fully recover from the physical, mental, and even emotional exhaustion. That’s why God created the Sabbath so men can experience total rest. While it is true that we need to go on vacations, you can also enjoy the Sabbath rest that’s freely given. It gives the 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 that helps you reconnect with God. As a result, it gives 𝗷𝗼𝘆 that’s never fleeting. It revitalizes you and helps you face a new week with enthusiasm. It gives a replenishment that helps you stay focused and productive in the coming days. In Genesis 2: 2-3, God ended His work and He rested on the the seventh day.

In a 4/4 time signature, the whole rest means silence for the entire measure. In a week, the Sabbath means the entire day of silence from anything that perplexes your mind.

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴
This great hymn richly reflects the comfort and peace that God can give in times of grief and despair written by a young Irishman, Joseph Scriven, who after receiving his degree in Trinity College, had planned on marrying his childhood love. However, a tragedy happened on the day before the wedding. His fiancé rode to meet him then terrifyingly, the horse was startled and the young woman was thrown into the river, drowned shortly and died.
Distressed, Joseph left Ireland and spent his life in Ontario, Canada, in the town of Port Hope, devoted to helping poor people in need and those who cannot pay, widows, sick, and children as his commitment in Christ’s Sermon on the Mount.
Joseph spent years teaching the children in which he fell in love with the captain’s niece, Eliza Rice, and the two planned the wedding. Weeks before the event, Eliza fell sick of pneumonia and passed away at the age of 23. Tragedy, once again, invaded his life and his dreamed wedding.
Despite the loss and anguish, Joseph continued to find solace in God whom he looked upon as his closest friend. He then wrote a poem to his mother in Ireland in which he described the extraordinary friendship that gave him a purpose and promising hope after the pain. The poem, which happened to be the lyrics of this hymn, eventually was released anonymously first and after a decade, Joseph revealed that “he and the Lord had written it together”.
𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱
You have been through tough times and your faith has been tested. Believe that your pain has a purpose. See God’s calling amid the loneliness. He wants you to be His vessel in fulfilling His ministry. After all, He is the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 that we couldn’t ask for more.
