REMEMBERING MSGR. RODOLFO "RUDY" VILLANUEVA ON HIS 2ND DEATH ANNIVERSARY

Msgr. Rudy Villanueva was a significant part of the devotion to Saint Pedro Calungsod, having composed many beloved devotional songs in his honor, including "Way Sukod man ang Pagmahal," "By the Power of Your Giving," and the "Gozos of Saint Pedro Calungsod."

During his Funeral Mass, Msgr. Ildebrando Jesus Leyson, vice postulator of the Cause of St. Pedro Calungsod, shared this heartfelt message in his homily for Nyor Rudy:

“May your memories live on in your melodies and songs, which will continue to be passed down wherever there are lovers of music, spreading the beauty of God and His boundless love.”

"Eternal rest grant unto Rodolfo, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."

VIVA! STA. RITA DE CASCIA! | Today, we celebrate the feast of the Patron of the Impossible, Saint Rita of Cascia.

A Holy Mass in her honor was celebrated at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Pedro Calungsod, D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City, and was presided over by Rev. Fr. Justin Gayo from the Diocese of Catarman, also an SPFY alumnus from the Mamamalakaya 2023 class, as he offered his thanksgiving Mass at the Shrine of our Katagilungsod,.

The Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Jonathan Rubin and accompanied by his fellow classmates, Rev. James Jumao-as, SHF, and Rev. Mat Labandero, SHF.

In his homily, Fr. Gayo reminded the faithful that God knows our struggles and pains, just as Saint Rita experienced hardships in her life. He also reminded everyone that God is greater, and His mercy is greater than our sins.

After the Mass, the faithful kissed the hands of the newly ordained priest as a sign of reverence and to receive his priestly blessing.

Afterwards, the Offering of Roses to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Letters of AVE MARIA followed.

Through the intercession of Saint Rita, may we continue to trust in God even in difficult and impossible moments, knowing that nothing is impossible with Him.

O powerful Saint Rita, you are called Saint of the Impossible. In this time of need, I come to you with confidence. You know my trials, for you yourself were many times burdened in this life. Come to my help, pray with me, intercede on my behalf before the Father. I know that God has a most generous heart and that he is most loving Father. Join your prayer to mine and obtain for me the grace I desire. (Mention your Requests) Amen.
