JUNE 27 | Our Mother of Perpetual Help
Today, we honor Our Mother of Perpetual Help, one of the most beloved Marian devotions in the Philippines and throughout the world. Centered on the miraculous icon entrusted to the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer by Pope Pius IX in 1866 with the command to โmake her known throughout the world,โ this devotion has inspired countless testimonies of healing, conversion, protection, and answered prayers.
Brought to the Philippines by the Redemptorist missionaries in the early 1900s, the devotion flourished through the weekly Novena Perpetua, especially at the Baclaran Church and locally here at the Redemptorist Church, where generations of Filipinos have gathered in faith to seek the loving intercession of Our Blessed Mother. Today, her image remains a source of hope and comfort, reminding us that Mary continually leads her children closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, our true and lasting help.
