"SECURE IN CHRIST"

We all have a compulsion to protect ourselves and the people we love.

We crave safety and security. But even if you were the richest person alive, you could not guard against every danger and difficulty.

True security comes from Jesus alone. He is God, and He offers a safe and secure eternal place in His family for all who put their trust in Him. He gives peace and security to each of us who belong to Him – who are in His family.

In First John 5:20 we read, “We know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.”

We will never have enough strength or enough money to keep ourselves safe. But Jesus is enough!

"HE IS IN CONTROL"

Recent circumstances in our world have left many of us feeling so out of control.

There is an amazing account in the Bible of Jesus in a boat on a lake with His friends. In the soothing motion of the boat, Jesus, a man at peace, fell asleep. As He slept a massive storm arose. The men were helpless in the face of the winds and the waves.

They frantically woke Jesus crying out, “Lord, wake up! We are going to die.” Jesus awoke and with one word, He calmed the storm. Then He looked at His friends and asked, “Where is your faith?”

Sometimes, when trouble comes into our lives, Jesus will quickly calm the storm. Other times He rides out the storm with us, but there’s one thing you can be sure of – He will never get out of the boat.

Always remember, there’s hope with God.
