Advisory for Halad sa UC alang kang Señor Santo Niño

• Those who wish to join the procession are advised to be at the Main Campus on or before 4:00 PM today.

• The assembly area will be inside the School Activity Center. No one is allowed to assemble on the street, as our permit starts at 4:00 PM.

• If you are joining as a group, please situate yourselves in a visible area so we can properly line you up, considering that we do not know in advance who will be joining.

• Please actively participate in the prayer during the procession.

• Upon reaching Ludo Building or Mang Inasal, those who wish to enter the Basilica or the Pilgrim Center should proceed on their own and use the designated entrance points fronting City Hall / Magellan’s Cross. Please do not wait for the carroza.

• No one is allowed to enter with the carroza, as it will pass through the Main Stone Arch, which serves as an exit for the general public. Only the carroza is permitted to enter all the way to the Pilgrim Center.

• Flowers from the carroza are discouraged from being taken home, as they will be placed at Gate 3 in preparation for this Saturday’s Grand Foot Procession.

• Please follow traffic rules at all times and obey traffic enforcers.

• Please adhere to the Basilica’s dress code. This is not about being strict, but about dressing appropriately for the celebration in honor of the Lord.

• Please avoid bringing large backpacks and other prohibited items for everyone’s safety.

Let us maintain solemnity and order at all times as we carry the name of the school and show our reverence to Señor Santo Niño.

The celebration is presided over by our Chaplain of the University of Cebu – Main Campus, Rev. Fr. Neil J. Cortes.

PRAYER FOR PROTECTION FROM EARTHQUAKE

Heavenly Father, as we stand helpless against earthquakes, we call upon the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit to save us. Please protect our families, our homes, the cities and towns we live in, as well as all the infrastructure within them. Save us from the nature's wrath and keep us all safe. This we humbly pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Blessed Virgin Mary, pray for us!

2nd Sunday of October | SOLEMNITY OF NUESTRA SEÑORA DEL SANTISIMO ROSARIO – LA NAVAL DE MANILA
(For the Diocese of Cubao its is considered as a Solemnity)

Pious believers believe that through Nuestra Señora del Santísimo Rosario's intercession under this title helped to defeat the invading forces of the Protestant Dutch Republic during the Battles of La Naval de Manila in 1646.

The feast of Our Lady of La Naval de Manila is on the second Sunday of October, having been celebrated on that date since 1646. Since 2023, the feast day of the image has been observed as a proper solemnity in Quezon City.

I would like to acknowledge the Dominican Friars of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, La Naval de Manila page for short history and the picture of the image of Nuestra Señora del Santísimo Rosario – La Naval de Manila.
