From Regional to the National WOPIC Convention, the WOPIC Delegates of IFI Cebu was in full attendance headed by our new Diocesan WOPIC President, Maโ€™am Analie Tandog, and WOPIC Adviser, Maโ€™am Melanie Sasota - Loyao. Likewise, the presence of our Diocesan Sectoral Officers, Vice President - Maโ€™am Hazel Joyohoy, Secretary, Maโ€™am Esmeralda Torregoza, and Southern Vicariate President, Maโ€™am Janielyn Quimbo.

It matters to step up in the national level, being the highest governing body of the WOPIC Sector. Our representation was an affirmation of our commitment to be part of the laity leaders trusted to bring out our voices and join for meaningful causes and as catalysts for reforms.

Well done, WOPIC Cebu!

The last three days of April 2026 marked the 17th WOPIC Regional Convention held at Reynaโ€™s Haven & Garden, Tagbilaran City.

The Diocese of Cebu delegation showed more than just presence - they came with open hearts and quiet courage, willing to share their growth and the ongoing, sometimes challenging, yet inspiring journey in the ministry of leadership and service. It is a call they continue to embrace with dedication, sincere intentions, and a desire for inclusive leadership.

Their participation in the conventionโ€™s meaningful and well-prepared agenda nurtured a deeper sense of empowerment and affirmed the steady progress of their engagement as laity.

What stood out most was the fellowship among the WOPIC community in the Visayas. The Holy Eucharistic Celebration grounded everyone in grace, guiding each activity in alignment with His will. The sessions offered space to reflect more deeply on their role as ministers in Christโ€™s mission. The Business Sessions reminded them of the responsibilities ahead, while the Welcome Night and Socials brought warmth and life to the gathering - creating moments to listen, connect, and share their gifts in simple but meaningful ways.

Amid diverse cultures and backgrounds, the call remained clear - to stay rooted in faith and to journey together in love and service. Even with challenges, voices continued to be heard. The election of the new Regional WOPIC Board brought moments of pressure and tested the spirit of inclusive and responsive leadership. Still, the shared commitment to the mission and to one another endures, even as it continues to grow and be refined.

Here are some of their photos from their travel in Cebu to Tagbilaran, to the closing ceremony.

Final DWEC Assembly 2026: A Holistic Report on Servant Leadership and Womenโ€™s Ministry

The Final DWEC Assembly held on March 21, 2026, at the IFI Cebu City Cathedral stands as a historical expression of servant leadership, rooted in faith, unity, and the shared calling of the women sector under the WOPIC ministry. Presented to its designated audience, this gathering reflects not only a culmination of a termโ€™s work but a living testimony that โ€œthis is made possible because of our shared commitment in servant leadership.โ€

Anchored in the World Day of Prayer, the assembly became โ€œa day of affirmation of our faithfulness in the calling to serve and lead,โ€ recognizing both presence and unseen participation as meaningful acts of commitment. It embodied a deeply โ€œchurchyโ€ atmosphere - grounded in gratitude, worship, and collective purpose.

Central to the assembly was Education and Capacity Building, emphasizing the theme โ€œBack to Basics, Forward to Excellence: CBL of WOPICโ€, leaders were reminded that โ€œfundamentals can always strengthen our purpose,โ€ having been โ€œnurtured to be church workers with compassion, wisdom, competence and integrity.โ€ This reaffirmed their identity, governance, and mandates, while celebrating the growth achieved through shared learnings.

A defining highlight was the presentation of the WOPIC Cebu Sectoral Guidebook, described as a work that โ€œonly started as a soft whisper of WOPIC Diocesan President, Hazel Maglinte - Joyohoy and has now become โ€œa legacy of humbling and inspiring, memorable leadership.โ€ This milestone reflects courage, vision, and purity of intention, an offering for future leaders to navigate servant leadership with clarity and conviction.

The Sharing Moments of WOPIC Leaders revealed the heart of the ministry. Through โ€œheartfelt conversations,โ€ leaders expressed both milestones and struggles, creating a sacred space for encouragement and renewal. The simple affirmation - โ€œYou did a good job, keep going!โ€- captured the spirit of solidarity and resilience that defines the WOPIC Cebu community.

In the Plenary Session, the assembly demonstrated organizational maturity and accountability. With quorum achieved, discussions brought โ€œclarity to matters that needed to be addressed,โ€ including mandates, membership, financial progress, and alignment with diocesan governance.

These developments signal โ€œa more optimistic outlook on our future endeavors,โ€ grounded in collaboration with church leadership.

The gathering concluded in gratitude, honoring clergy, leaders, and the diocesan bishop , and recognizing that โ€œour accomplishments are just the beginning of more relevant undertakings.โ€ These are upheld as a precious legacy entrusted to the next generation of leaders.

Finally, the closing unison dance symbolized joy, unity, and shared victory, a vibrant expression that the ministry is alive, moving, and deeply connected.

Overall, the Final DWEC Assembly 2026 stands as a powerful testament to unity and unwavering solidarity, affirming that the WOPIC Cebu ministry continues to rise in faith, excellence, and servant leadership.

Padayon, WOPIC Cebu!
