Parish Youth Coordinating Council - Sto. Rosario Parish The Official page of PYCC-Our Lady of the Holy Rosary (Sto. Rosario) Parish, Cebu City.

Pursuant to Article VII, Section 3 of the 2021 Constitution of the Archdiocese of Cebu-Commission on Youth, the Parish Youth Coordinating Council shall be the primary delegate of all the temporal duties over concerns relating to the youth projects and activities in the parish.

YOUTH OBSERVES FEAST OF SAN PEDRO CALUNGSOD

Young people gathered to honor the Visayan Proto-martyr, San Pedro Calungsod, attributed to be the patron saint of the Filipino Youth.

Prior to the feast day, Triduum Masses have been observed as spiritual preparation. Rev. Fr. Joseph de Aquino, mass presider of the third day triduum, reflected in his homily the character of San Pedro Calungsod to be a noteworthy inspiration of the young in this modern times. San Pedro, who died for the faith, have shown strong Emotional Quotient (EQ) which young people nowadays may seem to lack.

On the Feast Day, Rev. Fr. Cerilo Romero, the Parish Youth Director, presided over the Fiesta Mass. In his homily, he directed the reflection within the letters PEDRO which he said โ€œP-Persistent in E โ€“ Every trial, D โ€“ Dying for R โ€“ Righteousness, O โ€“ Offering all.โ€ This encapsulates the life and martyrdom of San Pedro in which young people must emulate.

The youth also immersed with the least of our brethren through a charity program that also took place on the feast day. Street dwellers and vendors were among the beneficiaries of the charity program.

The observance ended with a gathering of young people in the parish for a night of fellowship and thanksgiving.

The Parish Youth recently celebrated the feast of Saint Pedro Calungsod, patron of the youth. At a time when many face hardship and neglect, his life of charity and self-giving calls us to respond with compassion. In line with this, they conducted an outreach program for street vendors and the homeless, embodying a spirit of service after his example. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our generous sponsors.
