SHARING OUR (PINOY) TREASURE
Every time I travel and go around, I see how rich and progressive our Asian neighbors have become. I can't help but feel envious of the progress they are enjoying and wish that the Philippines, too, would shape up and get going real soon.
There was one moment though, in Shanghai, that made me realize that we are richer still despite our poverty. Our guide, an atheist, observed how happy and joyful we Filipinos are. She said it was so easy for us to be warm and accommodating. She also observed how prayerful we are.
She said it so well: "When I have problems, I just go out, drink and have fun, and somehow forget. But you Filipinos, you pray, you turn to God, and you are peaceful and happy again." How true.
We have our faith. We have a treasure. It is not ours to keep, but to spread. Not ours to flaunt, but to share.
A MOMENT WITH THE LORD
Lord, thank You for the gift of faith. Not mine to keep but mine to give. Amen.
A MOMENT WITH THE WORD
"...Go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News to all creation." Mark 16:25

Tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of our Church. After the Resurrection and Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, the disciples were afraid and hid behind locked doors. But on Pentecost, they were filled with HOPE and strength by the Holy Spirit, and so, they went out and preached.
May we always call on the Holy Spirit, to fill us with hope and trust, all the days of our lives. May we continue to share and spread to the world the gospel of joy and kindness. Amen.
