🇵🇭 When you work cross-culturally, it is important to understand the people and customs, the history and even the legends held in your new home. Filipino, Josè Rizal, was a brilliant man who gave his life for his country. His many acts of devotion, bravery & heroism until his unfortunate death are celebrated nationwide on Decembe30th

“Rizal was told to kneel and wear a blindfold. The Spanish were to shoot him in the back of his head. But Rizal defied their command and said he was innocent and did not want to fall, face forward, into the ground. He asked the Spanish military to preserve his head & to rather shoot him in the back.

Eight native soldiers composed the firing squad. Behind them were eight Spanish soldiers with Ma**er rifles, ready to shoot the native soldiers if they refused to shoot Rizal.”

* These beautiful statues can be found, along with the history of Rizal, up in the capitol city of Manila, at Rizal Park.

🌟🌟 STARTING THE NEW YEAR 2026 WITH GRATEFUL HEARTS & GRADUATION GOALS at PRO.VISION CHRISTIAN LEARNING CENTER in Recodo, Zamboanga City 🌟🌟

Rejoice together with teachers Eunice and Kim who labor in the Muslim community of Recodo — they share such encouraging photos and reports of progress made at the learning center.

The PVCLC preschool offers a unique environment that touches the mind, heart, and body of the little ones who attend.

🙏🏽 Focused prayers are what we all covet to see breakthroughs especially in the lives of the parents in this extremely impoverished community.

✝️ A look back from Captain Ernie Mangaoang of Missionary Avoation Fellowship (MAF) - Memories Showing the Hand of God

“God Works in Mysterious Ways - part 2

My stay in Zamboanga is drawing to a close. I will be going back to Luzon next week, February 3, and by the 5th I will be in Baguio. Before I depart may I write a sequel to my previous aticle, God Works in Mysterious Ways.

Back in the 1980s, a pastor in Cebu by the name of Rev. Sammy Cagumbay invited me. He then was interested to do joint ministry and wanted me to meet a German missionary. We boarded a boat to go visit the missionary. While settled in our cabin, there was an announcement that due to engine trouble the trip was cancelled.

I went back to Zamboanga without meeting the missionary. God works in mysterious ways. He brought Rev. Lueckhof, head of Christian Frontier Ministries, (CFM) and his secretary to my doorstep. Out of the blue, they came knocking at my door. They wanted our help as they were planning to hold a city-wide evangelistic gatherings. We gave them our full support and assigned a staff to help them with the evangelistic gatherings. This was the satrt of the friendship and partnership between Rev. Lueckhof and myself.

On the outset, Rev Lueckhof helped in the formation of Asian Christian Aviation Ministries (ACAM). With his help, we were able to refurbish a retired Cessna 206. By Filipino ingenuity, we were able to overhaul both engine and airframe. The C-206 looked like brand new after having it painted. This plane was our work horse used extensively by flying New Tribes missionary all the way to Manado Indonesia.

With our partnership with CFM, Rev Lueckhof assigned a couple, Pastor Carlo & Daisy Benitez, to help us in the ministry in Rosales Pangasinan. The work they started laid the ground work for other ministries to flourish.

I believe God works in marvelous ways. Whether through ACAM or CFM, what matters most is that His name is magnified and glorified. All glory and praise belong to Him alone.”

GREAT MEMORIES WE HOLD DEAR ❤️

About 40 yrs ago, Capt. Ernie Mangaoang with Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) opened the first Christian pilot training school in Manila to train Filipino pilots in order to assist missionaries flying into remote areas of the Philippines.

MAF partnered together with CFM, and Friederich not only taught Bible classes at the school, and occasionally flew with a pilot to deliver goods after a natural disaster, but he and brother Ernie became dear friends.

After living many years in Florida, brother Ernie returned last year to Manila to be with his family. We look forward to visiting him in the near future.

THANKSGIVING REFLECTIONS
Typhoon Relief Update

In this season of celebrating our blessings, we realize that life still brings us challenges -- including BIG storms. Staying thankful in the midst of trouble, we find God's great grace to help meet needs.

Typhoon Tino hit exactly within communities where we regularly serve. This incredible tragedy & the devastation left in its path awakened compassion and generosity from our many friends. Your prayers and financial gifts enabled us to practically help countless families affected by strong winds & massive flooding.

We'd like to share a pictorial update of our ongoing disaster relief ministry as a way to sincerely thank you. People are still digging themselves out of the muck & mire. We have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day!

We distributed large plastic bins packed with a wide variety of basic food supplies, bottled water, rubber slippers, mats to sleep on, blankets, shirts/shorts, fruits/veggies, hygiene kits with soap, shampoo, toothpaste, rubbing alcohol)
All packed and distributed with much love & prayer!

🔥. CEBU WILL RISE. 🔥

CFM / Pro.Vision Philippines work hand-in-hand together to distribute typhoon relief goods in communities around our centers hit hardest by Typhoon Tino!

Our team immediately got to work purchasing food supplies, then packaged them and began either passing them out at our centers or driving to deliver the packages directly to the needy.

Of course, love, encouragement and prayers were given for those impacted by the devasting typhoon as they received these helpful foods. We see this as love in action!

Our biggest thanks to all those who immediately sent financial donations to CFM and join with us to bring hope to those who lost so much.

We are continuing to deliver relief food supplies in the weeks to come as finances permit. If you feel led to donate any amount, please do so at www.cfm-network.com for more information! GOD BLESS YOU! ❤️

🚩CEBU’S WORST FLOODING: 48 dead and 29 missing.

CEBU, Philippines — At least 48 people have been confirmed dead, while several others remain missing after Typhoon Tino dumped more than a month’s worth of rain, triggering landslides and what authorities describe as the worst flooding Cebu has experienced in recent history.

Pictured below is one of the Pro.Vision Kids whose home was destroyed by a gigantic landslide.

🚩Our ministry will begin rice distribution as soon as possible. No work for days for most people, and for poor families that means zero income to buy food. Many local barangays provide clean drinking water and cell phone charging stations. If you would like to assist us in this food distribution, please go to www.cfm-network.com to donate.

What is beyond comprehension is that the PAGASA weather service issued a warning of yet another super typhoon arriving Friday or Saturday. As of yet, no one knows what direction it will take. Prayers greatly appreciated.

💟 For those who have asked….I am still currently in Atlanta to help with family after the birth of our second grandchild. That means Friederich is alone back home in Talisay. 🥺😢 No electricity, minimal internet, and he says our home feels like an island floating in a lake of deep water. Thank God our house was spared of damage.

16th Anniversary of the Zamboanga CFM church! Rejoicing over water baptism candidates, children being dedicated to the Lord, and eight young men coming to faith in Jesus Christ after the sermon! We all were treated with a pictorial presentation of the church over the years with a strong emphasis on ministering to children. A delicious meal was had by all with plenty of time for sweet fellowship.
