There is greater joy in celebrating Easter with our brothers and sisters in need.

Today, the SVD Task Force, in partnership with the Municipality of Talisay, celebrated Easter with 96 families living in a tent city in Barangay Biasong after losing their homes to Typhoon Tino.

With the help of around 50 dedicated volunteers—SVDs, SSpS, USC faculty, DYRF staff, Crusaders, Friends of the Poor, and other generous individuals—we shared not only goods but also time, care, and hope.

The day began with prayer, followed by blessings, games, and the distribution of essential items. Each family received rice, canned goods, sanitary supplies, mats, and sandals, along with additional clothing and shoes.

We ended the celebration with a joyful shared meal provided by the Crusaders, reminding us that Easter is truly about new life, hope, and community.

The SVD Task Force is preparing to celebrate Pasko sa Pagkabanhaw with 98 families displaced by Typhoon Tino, who are currently living in a tent city in Barangay Biasong, Talisay City.

In collaboration with the local municipality, 50 volunteers will arrive early in the morning of April 9 to share their time, love, and support. They will bring essential items such as clothing, rice, mats, and canned goods, among others. In addition, free haircut and massage services will be offered to the residents.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our benefactors for their generosity and continued support.

Happy Easter to everyone!

This morning, the DYRF Radio Program Cares brought hope to six survivors of Bagyong Tino who are now living in a tent city in Talisay. Each family received a 5-kilogram sack of rice along with cash assistance.

You can tune in to the Cares program every Sunday from 8:00 to 10:00 AM on DYRF Radio or through its page.

The Cares program seeks to bridge those affected by calamities or personal hardships with generous Good Samaritans willing to extend help.

Members of the SVD Task Force attended a meeting for healthcare providers organized by the Archdiocese of Cebu. We were invited to collaborate and strengthen our coordination, enabling us to become more effective in our shared mission of bringing healing to those who are most neglected.

In this Tent City in Barangay Biasong, 87 families are temporarily living after losing their homes to Typhoon Tino, seeking safety and hope as they begin the difficult journey of rebuilding their lives.

Yesterday, members of the SVD Task Force—Fr. Roger Bagao, SVD; Ruben Virtucio, CEO of DYRF Radio; Brenette Abrenica from USC; Alvin Sanchez; members of the Crusaders; social workers from Talisay City; and Bro. Carlos Ferrada, SVD—visited the 87 families displaced by Typhoon Tino and currently staying in the temporary tent city in Barangay Biasong, Talisay City.

During the visit, the team spent time listening to the stories of the families and witnessing firsthand the challenges they are facing. Despite the difficulties, the people shared their resilience, hope, and gratitude. Their stories deeply touched our hearts and reminded us of the importance of standing together in solidarity, especially in moments of hardship.

This encounter allowed the SVD Task Force to gain a clearer understanding of their situation and the urgent needs of the community. Inspired by this experience, the team is now preparing the first relief activity that will soon be carried out to support these families and bring them comfort, hope, and concrete assistance.

We humbly invite those who would like to extend their support to join us in this mission of compassion and solidarity. Donations in cash or in kind will greatly help us provide essential relief for these families who are striving to rebuild their lives. Any gesture of generosity, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.
