As we pray, we are also reminded of our call to be missionaries by sharing God’s love, peace, and hope with others. May this month inspire every family, community, and believer to pray the Rosary faithfully and to live out the Gospel through acts of love, service, and compassion.

September 29,2026 | Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels

Today, we celebrate the feast of Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, and Saint Raphael, the three Archangels who faithfully serve God and His people.

Saint Michael the Archangel is often portrayed wearing the armor of a Roman soldier and defeating a demon or dragon with his spear. He is known as the Prince of the Heavenly Host, defending the faithful against evil and protecting those who seek God's guidance, including families and marriages.

Saint Gabriel the Archangel is traditionally depicted in liturgical vestments and is known as the messenger of God. He appeared to the Blessed Virgin Mary to announce the coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is also regarded as a patron of communication and telecommunications.

Saint Raphael the Archangel is shown carrying a pilgrim's staff and accompanied by a fish, recalling the healing story of Tobias in the Book of Tobit. He is associated with healing, guidance, protection, and safe journeys, bringing God's care to those who are suffering or in need.

Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels, pray for us!

September 28, 2026 - Feastday of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila

Saint Lorenzo Ruiz (c. 1594 – September 29, 1637) is the first Filipino saint and protomartyr of the Catholic Church. Born in Binondo, Manila to a Chinese father and a Filipino mother, he grew up as a devout Catholic, serving as an altar boy and later working as a professional calligrapher for the Dominican friars. He lived a quiet, ordinary life as a husband to his wife, Rosario, and a father to three children. His life changed drastically in 1636 when he was falsely accused of murder involving a Spaniard.

To escape arrest, he boarded a ship with Dominican missionaries, unknowingly bound for Okinawa, Japan, during a time when the Tokugawa shogunate was brutally persecuting Christians. Upon arrival, Ruiz and his companions were arrested, imprisoned, and subjected to horrific torture in Nagasaki to force them to recant their faith.

Despite suffering water torture and being hung upside down over a pit, he famously declared: "I am a Catholic and wholeheartedly do accept death for God. Had I a thousand lives, all these to Him I shall offer."

He died of blood loss and suffocation on September 29, 1637.
