The Flores de Mayo culmination held at Sr. San Juan Bautista Guiwanon Chapel was a meaningful and joyful celebration that highlighted faith, unity, and community spirit among all participants. The event served as a beautiful reminder of gratitude and devotion, bringing together children, volunteers, sponsors, and community members in one shared celebration.
The program began with an animation dance performance, where participants showcased their energy, creativity, and enthusiasm. The lively presentation helped set a joyful tone for the entire event and encouraged active participation and enjoyment from the audience.
After the opening performance, a series of fun games were conducted. These activities brought excitement and laughter among the participants, allowing them to interact, bond, and enjoy friendly competition. The games also helped strengthen camaraderie and teamwork among everyone present.
Following the games, snacks were served to all attendees. This simple yet meaningful part of the program allowed everyone to take a break, share conversations, and enjoy food together, reflecting the spirit of sharing and hospitality within the community.
One of the most significant parts of the event was the distribution of school supplies. This activity aimed to support students and their educational needs, reminding everyone of the importance of learning and community support in helping young individuals pursue their studies.
Afterward, group pictures were taken to capture the memories of the celebration. These photos served as lasting reminders of the joy, unity, and shared experiences during the culmination of Flores de Mayo at the chapel.
To conclude the program, everyone participated in cleaning and organizing the venue. This final activity demonstrated responsibility, discipline, and respect for the place that hosted the celebration, ensuring that the chapel was left in good condition.
This successful event would not have been possible without the generosity and support of the sponsors, especially ๐Š๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐š ๐†๐ž๐ง ๐˜๐›๐šรฑ๐ž๐ณ & ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ, whose kindness and contributions played a vital role in making the celebration meaningful and successful.
Overall, the Flores de Mayo culmination at Sr. San Juan Bautista Guiwanon Chapel was not just an event, but a memorable experience that reflected faith, gratitude, and community unity.

โ€œTrain up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.โ€ โ€” Proverbs 22:6

๐Ÿ“Œ Palihog pakig-coordinate sa inyong purok o diretso sa mga Katekista para sa pagpanglista.

Uban ta sa paghulma sa lig-on nga pagtuo sa atong kabataan!

Youth in Mission, Faith in Action!

Yesterday, April 22, 2026, our youthful hearts said yes to service as we prepare to become Summer Catechists this coming May.

With passion and purpose, the youth from Divine Mercy Chapel โ€“ Siong-on, Sto. Niรฑo Kambiakeke Chapel, and Sr. San Juan Bautista Guiwanon Chapel are now equipped and ready to guide our childrenโ€”bringing them closer to God through faith, love, and learning.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œLet the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.โ€ โ€” Matthew 19:14

Together, we serve. Together, we inspire. Together, we build a stronger faith for the next generation.

FEAST OF THE TRANSFIGURATION OF THE LORD

The Story of the Transfiguration of the Lord
All three Synoptic Gospels tell the story of the Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-8; Mark 9:2-9; Luke 9:28-36). With remarkable agreement, all three place the event shortly after Peterโ€™s confession of faith that Jesus is the Messiah and Jesusโ€™ first prediction of his passion and death. Peterโ€™s eagerness to erect tents or booths on the spot suggests it occurred during the week-long Jewish Feast of Booths in the fall.

According to Scripture scholars, in spite of the textsโ€™ agreement it is difficult to reconstruct the disciplesโ€™ experience, because the Gospels draw heavily on Old Testament descriptions of the Sinai encounter with God, and prophetic visions of the Son of Man. Certainly Peter, James, and John had a glimpse of Jesusโ€™ divinity strong enough to strike fear into their hearts. Such an experience defies description, so they drew on familiar religious language to describe it. And certainly Jesus warned them that his glory and his suffering were to be inextricably connectedโ€”a theme John highlights throughout his Gospel.

Tradition names Mount Tabor as the site of the revelation. A church first raised there in the fourth century was dedicated on August 6. A feast in honor of the Transfiguration was celebrated in the Eastern Church from about that time. Western observance began in some localities about the eighth century.

On July 22, 1456, Crusaders defeated the Turks at Belgrade. News of the victory reached Rome on August 6, and Pope Callistus III placed the feast on the Roman calendar the following year.

Reflection
One of the Transfiguration accounts is read on the second Sunday of Lent each year, proclaiming Christโ€™s divinity to the Elect and baptized alike. The Gospel for the first Sunday of Lent, by contrast, is the story of the temptation in the desertโ€”affirmation of Jesusโ€™ humanity. The two distinct but inseparable natures of the Lord were a subject of much theological argument at the beginning of the Churchโ€™s history; it remains hard for believers to grasp.
