A Blessed Church is a spiritual family thriving in a peninsula known as Cavite City. We are diverse in age, background and, to some extent, in theological outlook – although at heart we are evangelicals and would describe ourselves as Bible-based and Spirit-led. Over recent years, we have become much more engaged in producing well-taught, doctrinally sound, and faithfully obedient Christians throu
gh preaching, Bible studies, and Sunday Schools. We are excited about the prospect of shaping the next generation by establishing an educational institution. We also aim to represent Christ in the community through evangelistic and charitable programs and enable fellow churches to grow even more in faith and service through conferences and special trainings. Prior to the Covid pandemic we had a fairly standard morning worship assembly, but to cope up with the new normal we are now compelled to conduct a hybrid program (face to face and online). This is being attended by around 50-70 adults and 20-25 children/teenagers. We attempt to combine contemporary and traditional expressions in our services, and celebrate the communion on the last Sunday of each month – a tradition which we have continued whilst holding online services. We also conduct Sunday school classes after the corporate worship, and run many midweek activities such as Prayer and Worship Nights, Gospel Basics, and Systematic Theology Classes. Our major theological standpoint is summarized in the battle cry of the Reformation known as the Five Solas. We believe that (1) The BIBLE alone is the source of authority in a Christian’s life; (2) GRACE alone is the reason for our salvation; (3) FAITH alone is the only means by which a sinner is justified; (4) CHRIST alone is the object of our saving faith; and (5) The GLORY OF GOD alone is the purpose of creation, salvation, and everything – including our goal as Christians. Salvation by works, antinomianism (or hyper-grace), and prosperity gospel are among the teachings that we strongly reject and preach against. And in as much as we believe that God still continues to work today through the gifts of Spirit, we hold that the gifts of healing, tongues, and prophecy already ceased with the Apostolic age. In all these, we are utterly convinced that the greatest gift Christians ought to pursue is the gift of love. A Blessed Church embraces her identity and purpose as an institution which Jesus created and authorized (1) to proclaim the Gospel of the kingdom, (2) to affirm Gospel professors, (3) to oversee their discipleship, and (4) to expose impostors.
