Acts 11: 21b-26; 13: 1-3
Psalms 98: 1, 2-3ab, 3cd-4, 5-6
Matthew 5: 20-26

In todayโ€™s Gospel, Jesus teaches us that righteousness is more than simply following rules; it begins with the condition of our hearts.

True righteousness is revealed when love triumphs over pride and when reconciliation becomes more important than proving ourselves right.

Today, we are reminded to take the initiative in making peace with others. Rather than allowing conflicts to grow, we are called to seek understanding, extend forgiveness, and pursue reconciliation. As we draw closer to God, we are invited to reflect His love in our relationships with one another.

Let us always remember that a transformed heart leads to transformed relationships. When we choose reconciliation over resentment, we become living witnesses of Godโ€™s grace and reflect His love to the world.

1 Kings 17:7-16
PSALM 4:2-3, 4-5, 7B-8
Matthew 5:13-16

In our world today, great works and achievements are often considered the measure of success. We praise and admire those who accomplish extraordinary things, and we hold them in high regard because of what they have done. Yet, the readings today remind us of a different way of living.

Jesus calls us to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. He invites us not to seek recognition for ourselves, but to live in such a way that others may see God's goodness through us. The readings remind us that our lives are not meant to be centered on achievements, praise, or recognition. More important than what we accomplish is allowing our presence to reflect God's presence in the world clothed not with pride and arrogance, but with humility, faith, and a willingness to serve others.

Therefore, may we strive to be recognized not because we are greater than others, but because whenever people encounter us, they experience God's love, kindness, and light. In fulfilling our life's purpose, may we continually proclaim God through our thoughts, words, and actions.

May our lives become a silent witness to God's presence, so that in everything we do, He may be known, loved, and glorified.

1 Kings 17:1โ€“6
Ps. 121:1โ€“2, 3โ€“4, 5โ€“6, 7โ€“8
Mt. 5:1โ€“12

To touch the bottom of helplessness, to experience nothingness, and to bear the pain of being despised and aloneโ€”these are the things that none of us would ever willingly seek.

Yet, the Gospel confronts us with a paradox that cuts straight against human nature. Our normal human tendency is to chase comfort, to demand convenience, and to seek for smooth paths. So, when we are told that the poor, the mourning, the hungry, and the persecuted are blessed, it would be understandable to raise brows. It sounds upside down. Why choose a difficult road?

But if we would look closer to our Gospel today, it does not a call us to โ€˜masochismโ€™; it is rather an invitation for conviction.
It does not ask us to seek suffering for sufferingโ€™s sake. Instead, it dares us to build an unshakeable faith and firm values that our hearts remain steadfast no matter the cost. It challenges us to stand firm when the cultural current threatens to sweep us awayโ€”even if it means standing completely alone.

True blessedness isn't passive endurance; it is the brave belief that standing with what is right is worth every bit of the sacrifice. We are not blessed because we are suffering. We are blessed because we refuse to compromise what is right, even when doing the right thing leaves us with nothing. We are blessed because we remain faithful. We are blessed because we choose to believe and to hold on to the promise that awaits us. We are blessed because we choose to believe and put our trust in Him who promised and who is trustworthy.

2Timothy 2: 8-15

Mark 12: 28-34

Jesus reminds us today that the essence of our faith in him is love. "To love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves."

In a world filled with distractions and pressures, it is easy to focus on many things and forget what matters most. But our Lord Jesus Christ calls us back to the foundation of our Christian living. We must live not merely following rules, but cultivating a heart that genuinely loves God and reflects that love to others.

We are invited again to do the very act of kindness, forgiveness, patience, and generosity towards others for it is a concrete expression of this greatest commandment.
Let us bear in mind that when we choose love, we become instruments of God's presence in the lives of those around us.The measure of our relationship with God is often seen in how we treat others.

Let us ask the Lord to fill out hearts with His love and to love Him above all things. May we see Him in every person we meet everyday. May our lives be a reflection of His goodness and mercy to all.

Gospel: Mark 11: 27-33

In our Gospel today (Mark 11:27-33), we see the Jewish authorities act foolishly in the presence of Jesus. They observed His actions and heard His words. Deep down, they knew He was extraordinary, if not divine. For those of us who believe and belong to Jesus, His identity is obvious. However, these leaders refused to believe. Instead, they demanded proof of His signs and authority.

Our Gospel reminds us that unbelief and the refusal to see the truth lead us to spiritual blindness. It distorts our reality and prevents us from accepting the ultimate truth. If love is real, then we know that God is real, and that Jesusโ€™ authority comes from on high. Knowing this, we must ask ourselves: shall we also foolishly demand a proof?

First Reading: First Peter 4: 7-13
Psalms 96: 10, 11-12, 13
Gospel: Mark 11: 11-26

As we continue to reflect on the spirit of Pentecost, todayโ€™s readings emphasize that God has given us many gifts and made us truly good in many different ways. However, our true goodness is measured neither by our physical features nor by what is recognizable to our senses, but by the fruits we bear. We should not be like the fig tree that Jesus cursed, which was full of leaves but bore no fruit. Our lack of fruitfulness happens when we allow ourselves to become a den of thievesโ€”a marketplace. God did not make us that way; rather, it is we who drive out the Holy Spirit, whom God placed within us, through our sins.

Therefore, if we truly want to experience God in our lives, know His goodness, and realize how truly good we are, let us first renounce sin and never return to it. It is difficult, but Jesus assures us, "When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for."

We are truly good. So, let us invite the Holy Spirit to reclaim His temple within us, transforming our hearts from a den of thieves into a sanctuary of grace. May our lives not just be a display of green leaves, but a continuous harvest of love, charity, and joy. We should not share only during Christmas, nor should we repent and give alms only during Lent. We are not meant to be Christians for a season; we are called to be a living Pentecost every single day.

First Reading: 1 Peter 2: 2-5, 9-12
Psalms 100: 2, 3, 4, 5
Gospel: Mark 10: 46-52

The gates of heaven, once closed, are now open to all because of Jesus Christ. As our High Priest, He offered the perfect sacrifice to the Father, unhesitatingly giving His own life for our salvation. He did not think of Himself, but of each of us, desiring that we enjoy God's everlasting presence.

But this beautiful story does not end with His sacrifice. Through baptism, we are personally called to share in Christ's priesthood. If you are baptized, this sacred sharing is your reality right now.

Todayโ€™s readings highlight exactly what this reality looks like. Just as the blind man Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus in the Gospel, we too are called to recognize our need for God and help others do the same. As the First Reading reminds us, we are a "royal priesthood" chosen to declare God's praises. Therefore, praying, interceding, and sacrificing are not responsibilities reserved only for ordained priests and religious sisters. They belong to all of us.

By virtue of our baptism, we all share the responsibility to guide, teach, instruct, and bring others back to God. Let us live out this calling today, never forgetting the immense grace and gift we have received from the One who loves us deeply.

1Peter 1: 18-25
Psalms 147: 12-13, 14-15, 19-20
Mark 10: 32-45

It is painful to see how many people take advantage of the suffering of others. While some quietly carry their crosses, others use those moments to climb the ladder of status, power, and human praise. In todayโ€™s Holy Gospel, we witness this very attitude in James and John. Right after Jesus reveals the suffering He is about to endure, the two disciples fail to show empathy or understanding. Instead, they focus on what they can gain for themselves.

Selfishness can be deeply destructive, especially in ministry and service. At times, even our good deeds may be driven by hidden motives. Todayโ€™s Gospel reminds us that true greatness is not measured by recognition or influence, but by humble and selfless service to others.

By Godโ€™s grace, may we learn to serve sincerely and generously, without seeking reward or counting the cost.
