Preaching The Word of Truth rightly divided(2Tim.2:15) from the KJV Bible emphasizing the dispensation of the grace of God given to Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles(Eph.3:1-2; Rom. 11:13) in the "But Now" period (Eph. 2:13).

2 Corinthians 4:5 KJV
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

What is truth?

John 17:17 KJV
Sanctify them through thy truth: "THY(God's) WORD IS TRUTH".

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, 'rightly dividing THE WORD OF TRUTH".

The will of God concerning the truth

1 Timothy 2:4 KJV
Who will have all men to be saved, and "to come unto THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH".

But many are,

2 Timothy 3:7 KJV
"Ever learning", and "never able to come to THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH".

For the time will come when...

2 Timothy 4:3-4 KJV
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine"; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
[4] And "they shall turn away their ears FROM THE TRUTH", and shall be turned unto fables.

But whatever men's response would be,

2 Corinthians 13:8 KJV
For "we can do nothing against the truth", but FOR THE TRUTH.

"Are You Living Under Grace?"
Romans 6:14
Part 1
May 2, 2021

Romans 6:14 KJV
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not "under the law", but "under grace".

Considering two scriptural exact expressions:
1. Under the law;
2. Under grace

What it means to "be under the law"?
This expression appears 12 times in the word of God(Rom.3:19;6:14-15; 1 Cor. 9:20-21; Gal. 3:23;4:4-5,21;5:18).

This expression could be applied as:
1. Under the law doctrinally and dispensationally, and
2. Under the law in principle or in practice

Who are under the law doctrinally and dispensationally?

➡️Israel in Time Past

Deuteronomy 4:1-2,5-8 KJV
Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto THE STATUTES and unto THE JUDGMENTS, which I teach you(Israel), for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. [2] Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD your God which I command you. [5] Behold, I have taught you STATUTES and JUDGMENTS, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye(Israel) should do so in the land(of Canaan) whither ye go to possess it. [6] Keep therefore and do them ; for "this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations(Gentile nations)," which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation(Israel) is a "wise and understanding people". [7] For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for ? [8] And what nation is there so great, that hath "statutes and judgments" so righteous as ALL THIS LAW(the whole law,2 Chron. 33:8;Gal.5:3;James 2:10), which I set before you this day?

Deuteronomy 28:1-6 KJV
And it shall come to pass, IF thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, "to OBSERVE and to DO ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS" which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

BLESSINGS IF Israel would OBEY

[28] And all these BLESSINGS shall come on thee, and overtake thee, IF thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
[3] Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. [4] Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. [5] Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. [6] Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

CURSES IF Israel would DISOBEY

Deuteronomy 28:15-19 KJV
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that ALL THESE CURSES shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: [16] CURSED shalt thou be in the city, and CURSED shalt thou be in the field. [17] CURSED shall be thy basket and thy store. [18] CURSED shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. [19] CURSED shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you LIFE and DEATH, BLESSING and CURSING: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Joshua 8:34 KJV
And afterward he read "all the words of the law", the BLESSINGS and CURSINGS, according to all that is written IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW.

Romans 2:17-20 KJV
Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in THE LAW, and makest thy boast of God, [18] And knowest HIS(God's) WILL, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of THE LAW; [19] And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, [20] An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of "the truth in THE LAW".

NOTE and UNDERSTAND:

👉BLESSINGS upon Israel are dependent on the merits of their OBEDIENCE to the law. OBEDIENCE is rewarded with BLESSINGS(physical blessings in the land). On the other hand, DISOBEDIENCE is rewarded with CURSINGS.

👉This is how the law operates with Israel under the law.

Few examples under the law:

David

2 Samuel 22:1,21-23 KJV
And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

[21] The LORD REWARDED ME ACCORDING TO MY RIGHTEOUSNESS: "according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me". [22] For I have KEPT THE WAYS of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. [23] For all his JUDGMENTS were before me: and as for his STATUTES, "I did not depart from them".

- David exactly knew how God would bless him. It was through HIS MERIT (in obeying the law)that he received the blessing of physical deliverance from his enemies.

Hezekiah

2 Kings 18:1-7 KJV
Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. [2] Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. [3] And "he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord", "according to all that David his father did". [4] He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. [5] HE TRUSTED IN THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. [6] For "he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him", but KEPT HIS COMMANDMENTS, "which the LORD commanded Moses". [7] And "the LORD was with him"; and HE PROSPERED whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.

- Hezekiah absolutely knew the blessings and curses of the law.

2 Kings 20:1-6 KJV
In those days was Hezekiah "sick unto death". And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. [2] Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying, [3] I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now "how I have WALKED BEFORE THEE IN TRUTH(the truth of the law)and with a perfect heart, and HAVE DONE THAT WHICH IS GOOD IN THY( the LORD'S)SIGHT". And Hezekiah wept sore. [4] And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying, [5] Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I WILL HEAL THEE: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord. [6] And "I will add unto thy days fifteen years"; and "I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria"; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

- Hezekiah here received PHYSICAL HEALING and DELIVERANCE from the hand of the king of Assyria, their enemy. Again, it is through the MERIT OF OBEDIENCE(to the law)that blessings are received.

➡️Is this how God operates in this present "dispensation of the grace of God"? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

👉So sad to say, many Christians are living under the law in their practice. They indeed know that we are not under the law dispensationally, but they are living practically under the law.
👉Many Christians are also confused about what a dispensation is. They still think(as they were taught) that the law operates and that its blessings are in effect today.
👉Some who claimed to be under grace(dispensationally)are living unawarely(or perhaps awarely) under the law, in practice.
👉Say for example, many are still asking God for material blessings and prosperity, miracles, healings, deliverance, and so forth.
👉They think or believe that through giving tithes, going to church, being active to all activities and programs of the church and being faithful to God in everything would cause God to bless them in abundance.
Is this not living under the system of the law in Time Past? It is NOT THROUGH OUR MERIT that God has blessed us today. It is ONLY THROUGH THE MERITS OF CHRIST - THE MERITS OF THE CROSS OF CHRIST AT CALVARY.

➡️Let's read,understand and believe...

Ephesians 1:1-14 KJV
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to "the faithful in Christ Jesus": [2] GRACE be to you, and PEACE, "from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ". [3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, WHO HATH BLESSED(past tense) us WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS IN HEAVENLY PLACES "IN CHRIST": [4] According as he(God the Father) hath chosen us IN HIM(Christ) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [5] Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children BY JESUS CHRIST to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, [6] To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted IN THE BELOVED(Christ). [7] IN WHOM(Christ) "we have" redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; [8] Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; [9] Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: [10] That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things IN CHRIST, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even IN HIM(Christ): [11] IN WHOM(Chrust) also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: [12] That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted IN CHRIST. [13] IN WHOM(Christ) ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: IN WHOM also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.(We will have again a full discussion on this in our next series).

👉Think about this:
Aren't we blessed enough IN CHRIST? Are you living UNDER GRACE? or UNDER THE LAW?

Grace and peace to us all in Christ.

"But now"

Ephesians 2:13 KJV
"But now" in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Romans 3:21 KJV
"But now" the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Romans 6:22 KJV
"But now" being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Romans 7:6 KJV
"But now" we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

"UNDERSTANDING THE WILL OF GOD"
Part 15
Jan. 10, 2021
"Walking In The Light Of God's Perfect And Complete Will"

2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Colossians 4:12 KJV
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

A Short Review

- We've learned that ever since, man's heart (by nature) is deceitful & desperately wicked (Gen. 6:5;Jer.17:9;Mark 7:21-23) & therefore not a safe guide in determining the will of God.
- We've learned also that it is evil to live according to that which is right in our own eyes as Israel did in time past under the law(Judges 17:6;21:25).
- We have also known that in this dispensation, a new church called "new man", "new creature", created by God in Christ(Eph.2:15;2 Cor. 5:17), is possessing already the complete written revealed will of God.

➡️Understanding 2Tim. 3:16-17

2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
"All scripture" is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God ", NOT the bible writers.

Job 32:8 KJV
But there is a "spirit in man": and the INSPIRATION of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Matthew 4:4 KJV
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by "EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD".(Pls. see also Lk. 4:4)

Job 23:12 KJV
Neither have I gone back from THE COMMANDMENT OF HIS LIPS; I have esteemed THE WORDS OF HIS MOUTH more than my necessary food.

John 6:63 KJV
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: THE WORDS that I speak unto you, THEY ARE SPIRIT, and they are life.

1 Corinthians 2:10,13 KJV
But God hath
👉revealed👈 them unto us by his Spirit: for the 👉Spirit👈 searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. [13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL.

Romans 8:16 KJV
The Spirit itself beareth witness with "our spirit", that we are the children of God:

- The Spirit which revealed the word of God(which is now written) bears witness with our spirit, not with our emotions or intuitions(direct knowledge or ready insight)that we are the children of God(pls. see also Gal. 3:26;Eph.5:1).

👉The contents of "All scripture" are the commandments or words(every word) of God's lips and mouth.

QUESTION: Do we then need to ask God to show or give us more of His will?
ANSWER: Absolutely not! We already have the complete revelation of God's will for us in a book - the Bible - our FINAL and ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY.

Let us be reminded again & again to:

John 5:39 KJV
👉SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Acts 17:11 KJV
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received THE WORD with all readiness of mind, and 👉SEARCHED THE SCRIPTURES DAILY, whether those things were so.

1 Timothy 4:13 KJV
Till I come, 👉GIVE ATTENDANCE TO READING, TO EXHORTATION, TO DOCTRINE.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
👉STUDY to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH.

OUR TEXT:

2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, "THROUGHLY" furnished unto all good works.

"THROUGHLY" not THOROUGHLY

Exodus 21:19 KJV
If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be THOROUGHLY healed(physically).

2 Kings 11:18 KJV
And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces THOROUGHLY, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the Lord.

- "Thoroughly" puts emphasis on the EXTERNAL, the OUTWARD form or appearance of somebody or something as in the given passages above.

- "Throughly" on the other hand, puts emphasis in the internal, inward thing of something & inward being of a person.

Job 6:2 KJV
Oh that MY GRIEF were THROUGHLY weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
- Grief is inward.

Psalm 51:2 KJV
Wash me THROUGHLY from MINE INIQUITY, and cleanse me from MY SIN.
- Iniquity/sin is inward.

2 Corinthians 11:6 KJV
But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been THROUGHLY made manifest AMONG YOU in all things.
- Paul is among the believers at Corinth.

"THROUGHLY furnished unto all good works"(2 Tim. 3:17).

👉 It is through the all scripture that the man of God is made perfect or complete "throughly" furnished unto all good works.
👉Nothing can replace the perfect word of God IN US that believe.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, THE WORD OF GOD, WHICH EFFECTUALLY WORKETH ALSO IN YOU THAT BELIEVE.

Ephesians 3:16 KJV
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in THE INNER MAN;

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 KJV
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the INWARD MAN is renewed day by day. [17] For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; [18] While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

👉 We should not forget the fact that the word of God WORKS IN THEM THAT BELIEVE. Sound doctrine therefore must be appropriated by faith to experience its powerful effectual working INSIDE OUT of the believer's life.

AS A CONCLUSION,

- Believers are no longer reprobate unto every good work because God has already ordained the good works for us(members of the body of Christ) to walk on(Eph.2:10), now written in the perfect & complete word of God.

Titus 1:16 KJV
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Titus 2:7-8 KJV
In all things shewing thyself a PATTERN OF GOOD WORKS: in doctrine(sound doctrine, v. 1)shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, [8] Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Titus 2:14 KJV
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, ZEALOUS OF GOOD WORKS.

Titus 3:1 KJV
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be READY TO EVERY GOOD WORK,

Titus 3:8 KJV
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be CAREFUL TO MAINTAIN GOOD WORKS. These things are good and profitable unto men.

SOLEMN WARNINGS: The body of Christ at its worst in the latter times/last days.

- Departure from the faith is a grave mistake.

1 Timothy 4:1ff. KJV
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall DEPART FROM THE FAITH, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devills,;

1 Timothy 4:16 KJV
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 KJV
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

- Let us all be willing to pay the price of standing & living godly for the truth.

2 Timothy 3:12-13 KJV
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. [13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Thank you so much. Grace and peace to us all in Christ.
