IMMACULADIAN : The Parish Bulletin

It was in 1848 that the Immaculate Conception Parish was created under the auspices of the Diocese of Cebu. Through the eagerness, enthusiasm, helpfulness, and involvement of the villagers, a big chapel was built in Poblacion, now Poblacion West. This was made possible through the people's humanitarian efforts and spirit of volunteerism. Looking up to the superiority and autocratic leadership of the Spaniards supported with the power of the church over the State, Catigbian village was proclaimed one of the towns of Bohol. Paying visits and managing the activities of the town were priests from Baclayon. For quite a long time, the Immaculate Conception Parish was supervised and manned by Spanish Missionaries of the Society of Jesus whose main office was based in Baclayon, Bohol.
