A BLESSED MEMORIAL OF THE QUEENSHIP OF MARY
The Queenship of Mary is a Catholic feast celebrated on August 22nd, commemorating Mary's role as Queen of Heaven and Earth. This feast, established by Pope Pius XII in 1954, is observed on the octave (eighth day) following the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary. The concept of Mary's queenship is rooted in Scripture, particularly the angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary that her son would reign forever, making her a queen through her association with Jesus' kingship.
