THE CREED IS THE SUMMARY OF THE BASIC TRUTHS OF OUR FAITH. It is called "Symbol" which means "Seal if Faith." We are sealed with the Creed to signify that we belong to Christ; similarly, the Roman soldiers were sealed with the seal of the emperor to signify that they belonged to the Roman Army

THE CREED IS DIVIDED INTO 12 ARTICLES, IN ACCORDANCE TO THE NUMBER OF THE APOSTLES. An ancient tradition says that Apostles gathered in Jerusalem, before departing for their missions,and each of them composed one article under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Compiling the 12 articles, they obtained the so-called Apostles' Creed. In that way, the teaching of Jesus was preserved from the danger of adding and removing any article of faith.

I believe in God, The Father Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth.

I BELIEVE IN GOD

FAITH IS A THEOLOGICAL VIRTUE BY WHICH WE BELIEVE IN THE EXISTENCE OF GOD AND OBEY HIS COMMANDS. To believe in God implies to listen to his word and put it into practice.

TO BELIEVE IN GOD MEANS TO LOVE HIM. As the Scriptures says: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole strength. ” (Deuteronomy 6:4-5).

ABRAHAM IS VENERATED AS THE FATHER OF ALL BELIEVERS. He was a rich shepherd for Ur, who lived 1,800 years before Christ. He was sad, because he and his wife Sarah were already old, and had neither children nor a land of their own. When Abraham was 75, the Lord appeared to him and said “Go forth out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and out of they father's house, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and magnify thy name, and thou shalt be blessed. ”(Genesis 12:1-2).
Trusting in the Promised of the Lord, he took his wife Sarah and left his Country. The Lord rewarded his faith by giving him a son, Isaac, and the promised land of Canaan.

THE VIRGIN MARY IS HONOURED AS THE PERFECT MODEL OF FAITH. Because of her holiness, God elected her to become the mother of his Son. At the appointed time, the Archangel Gabriel announced unto her : “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.” she was deeply troubled by these words; but Gabriel continued “Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God. Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.” And Mary said to the angel: “How shall this be done, because I know not man?
And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Because no word shall be impossible with God.(Luke.1:28-38)

THE FATHER ALMIGHTY

GOD THE FATHER IS THE FIRST PERSON OF THE HOLY TRINITY. God is Father because he created the world, and because he generated from eternity his Son Jesus Christ. The Son was generated from eternity and not created in time, because, being God, he is eternal, without beginning and end.(cf.John.1:1-5).

THE DOGMA OF THE HOLY TRINITY DECLARES: “GOD IS ONE DIVINE NATURE IN THREE DIVINE PERSONS: FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.” They are not three Gods, but three persons composing one God. The Trinity is similar to a family, where there is the father, the mother and the child: they are three different persons, but united in one family by their mutual love..

THE PROOF OF THE EXISTENCE OF THE HOLY TRINITY IS IN THE GOSPEL. Jesus revealed this dogma when he said “Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”(Matthew 28:19).

GOD IS ALMIGHTY BECAUSE NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH HIM. We may ask: “If God is powerful, why he can't defeat evil and death?” We can answer this by saying God allows evil for a greater good. He is so powerful that he can draw goodness from the worst person, or a positive outcome from the most terrible event.

THE CREATOR

GOD IS THE CREATOR BECAUSE HE CREATED HEAVEN AND EARTH OUT OF NOTHING. As the scriptures proclaim :“In the beginning,God created the heavens and the earth.”(Genesis 1:1)

GOD CREATED THE UNIVERSE OUT OF LOVE. Everything in the world speaks of the love of God, as in the Psalm: “Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens!
From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?”

THE PURPOSE OF CREATION IS TO GIVE GLORY TO GOD. God created the world to share his glory with his creatures; they, in return, ought to glorify him.

GOD, AS A GOOD FATHER, CARES FOR HIS CREATIONS THROUGH DIVINE PROVIDENCE. This is the instrument used by God to preserve his creation and to guide it to its final purpose.

GOD CREATED ALL THINGS GOOD. Evil and death entered into the world because of the envy of the Devil and the disobedience of man (cf.Gen.3:1-21)

WE CAN KNOW WITH CERTAINTY THE EXISTENCE OF GOD UPON LOOKING AT THE BEAUTY AND HARMONY OF THE UNIVERSE. As St.Pa Explained:“For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse.”(Romans 1:20).

THE CREATION WAS A COMMON TASK OF THE TRINITY. The Father created everything through the Son, and it was the Holy Spirit who gave it life.

HEAVEN AND EARTH

GOD IS THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH,OF ALL THINGS VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE THINGS. The Heaven refers to the spiritual world of the souls and of the Angels; on the other hand, the earth signifies the material world.

WE BELIEVE IN THE EXISTENCE OF THE ANGELS. They are spiritual beings, immortal, and created by God. The term Angel comes from the Greek word angellos, which means "messenger," since one of their missions, is to announce the Word of God. The greatest Angels are called Archangels; they are: Michael, whose name means "Who is like God;" Raphael which means "Medicine of God;" and Gabriel, which is translated as "Power of God."

THE MISSION OF THE ANGELS IS TO SERVE GOD AND TO GUARD ME. They serve God by praising him in heaven and by announcing hos Word on earth; they guard men by protecting them from evil and by interceding for them before God. Every man has a Guardian Angel at his side, to protect him from dangers and to guide him towards eternal life. As the scriptures declare: “For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.”(Psalm.91:11).

MAN

MAN WAS CREATED "IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD"(Genesis 1:26). It means the he has a spiritual soul endowed with intellectual and will. Man is a synthesis of body and soul, and his purpose on earth is to know, serve, glorify and love God.

MAN WAS CREATED MALE AND FEMALE. Man and woman have the same dignity, because they are both made in the image of God; however l, they are different in their body and in their functions. They are not antagonist to each other,but complementary.

ADAM AND EVE IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN WERE ENDOWED WITH THE ORIGINAL HOLINESS AND JUSTICE. They were in perfect harmony between themselves, with creation and with God. They were destined to live happily for ever, without suffering and death.

ORIGINAL SIN

THE ORIGINAL SIN IS THE FIRST ACT OF DISOBEDIENCE TO THE WILL OF GOD; it was committed by adam and Eve upon the temptation of the devil. Lucifer, which means "Bearer of Light," became so proud of his beauty that he wanted to take the place of God. As a consequence, he was cast into Hell. The Devil cannot be converted any more after his falling, because his sin is irrevocable. Lucifer is also called Satan, which means "Accuser," Beelzebul, meaning "God of flies" and Devil, which is translated as "Divider."

GOD SAID TO ADAM AND EVE THAT THEY COULD EAT THE FRUITS FROM ALL THE TREES IN THE GARDEN OF EDE, EXCEPT THE FRUIT FROM THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL,LEST THEY WOULD DIE. Lucifer, with the appearance of a serpent, tempted Eve, saying “You won’t really die,
for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”(Genesis 3:4-5). Eve saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye; so she took its fruit and ate it. Because of this sin, known as Original sin, God expelled them from the Garden of Eden.

THE ORIGINAL SIN CONSIST IN THE DEPRIVATION OF THE ORIGINAL HOLINESS AND JUSTICE. It is a sin of pride, because man abused his freedom and disobeyed God. The consequences of the Original sin are the following: Man lost his original harmony and justice; death entered into the world; and all the descendants of Adam would be conceived with the Original sin. In view of her divine motherhood, the Virgin Mary was to be Immaculate, meaning, "conceived without the stain of sin."

Most Holy Virgin Mary, Help of Christians, how sweet it is to come to your feet imploring your perpetual help. If earthly mothers cease not to remember their children, how can you, the most loving of all mothers forget me? Grant then to me, I implore you, your perpetual help in all my necessities, in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations. I ask for your unceasing help for all who are now suffering. Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners. Grant through your intercessions many vocations to the religious life.
