On September 30, 2026, two Chi Alpha officers participated in ๐๐๐ค๐ข๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ๐จ: With the President โ An Informal Discursive Session with Student Leaders at the CAS-AVC.
University President Dr. Redentor S. Palencia shared his experiences and described leadership as a calling that requires selfless service. He also quoted the Bible, saying, โMany are called, but few are chosen,โ emphasizing that not everyone is called to the field of leadership, but those who are called are entrusted with a responsibility to serve. He reminded student leaders that their experiences can shape and prepare them for leadership. He also emphasized that communication is key to effective leadership, especially in understanding concerns and working toward solutions.
The open forum provided an opportunity to raise student concerns and discuss possible resolutions and immediate actions with the administration. From the Presidentโs sharing, the Chi Alpha officers were reminded that leadership is not about proving yourself to everyone. There may be times when people misunderstand a leaderโs intentions, but what matters is remaining sincere, communicating well, and continuing to do what is right for the good of the organization and the people it serves. True leadership is a calling to serve, listen, communicate, and take action, not simply to hold a position.
