𝐅𝐔𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍. ☀️🌊

The Ministry of Lectors joined the entire community of St. Bartholomew Parish for the 2026 Post-Holy Week Fellowship Gathering at Buri Baras Beach — a day filled with fun, food, and gratitude. Together, we celebrated faith, friendship, and the blessing of community through moments of laughter, bonding, and relaxation by the sea.

As our altar servers and volunteers prepare to serve this coming Holy Week (March 29–April 4, 2026), we invite our parishioners to help us provide simple refreshments for them.

You may donate biscuits, coffee, salabat, bottled water, candies, and chocolates.

Donations may be given to Mrs. Ma. Norma Abbang or at the Parish Office.

Let us help our servers and volunteers in serving the Lord.

On 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, we join the Cebuanos and the entire Filipino nation in joyfully honoring and celebrating 𝐒𝐞ñ𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐍𝐢ñ𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮, the 𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, gifted by the Spaniards in 1521 as a symbol of the birth of Christianity in our land.

Canonically crowned on 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟖, 𝟏𝟗𝟔𝟓 by the authority of 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐒𝐭. 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐕𝐈, the Señor Sto. Niño remains a powerful sign of God’s abiding presence, childlike faith, and hope among the Filipino people.

𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 – 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

Almighty Father, we raise our hearts to You in gratitude for the wonders of creation of which we are part, for Your providence that sustains us in our needs, and for your wisdom that guides the course of the universe.

We acknowledge our sins against You and the rest of creation. We have not been good stewards of nature. We have confused Your command to subdue the earth.

The environment is made to suffer our wrongdoings and now we reap the harvest of our abuse & indifference. Global warming is upon us. Typhoons, floods, volcanic eruption and other calamities occur in increasing number & intensity.

We turn to You our loving Father and beg forgiveness for our sins. We ask that we, our loved ones and our hard-earned possessions be spared from the threat of calamities, natural and man-made. We beseech You to inspire us all to grow into responsible stewards of Your creation and generous neighbors to those in need.

Amen.

ORDINARY TIME IN TWO PARTS

The Catholic liturgical calendar divides Ordinary Time into two parts. The first part begins after the Christmas season, following the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, and continues until Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. This period focuses on the early ministry of Jesus and his teachings.

The second part of Ordinary Time starts after Pentecost, following the Easter season, and continues until the beginning of Advent. During this time, the Church reflects on the mission of Christ and the growth of the Church, encouraging the faithful to live out the teachings of Jesus in daily life.
