Successful Visita Iglesia – Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Council

The Knights of Columbus – St. Joseph “Terror of Demons” Council joyfully completed a meaningful and spiritually enriching Visita Iglesia this Holy Week. As brother knights and faithful Catholics, this sacred tradition allowed us to reflect deeply on Christ’s passion, strengthen our bond as a brotherhood, and walk together in prayerful devotion.

Visita Iglesia, a long-standing Lenten tradition in the Philippines, involves visiting seven churches to meditate on the Seven Last Words of Jesus. It is not only a form of penance and pilgrimage but also a journey of faith and unity; especially significant to us as Knights, called to defend the Church and uphold our spiritual duty.

We thank all who participated and made this pilgrimage truly memorable.

📣 The Knights of Columbus – St. Joseph "Terror of Demons" Council will be having its Visita Iglesia on April 17, 2025 (Thursday). Assembly will be at San Bartolome Church, and we will begin promptly at 4:00 AM. Please arrive before the scheduled time.

🕊️ Visita Iglesia 2025 – Reminders for a Meaningful Pilgrimage 🕊️
As we prepare our hearts and bodies for this sacred tradition, please keep in mind the following:

- Maintain silence inside the churches.
- Avoid loud conversations and unnecessary distractions.
-This is a time for reflection and prayer.
-Wear any white shirt (plain or printed, long or short sleeves).
-Choose comfortable attire suitable for walking and respectful of the sacred space.
-We will be walking throughout the journey—set a comfortable pace for everyone.
-Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.
-Rest if needed, but let us remember: this is a devotion of effort, sacrifice, and faith.
-You may bring family and friends—make it a shared spiritual journey.

Let this not be just a walk, but a pilgrimage of faith.

🛡️ Happy 143rd Founding Anniversary to the Knights of Columbus! ⚔️

Today, March 29, 2025, we joyfully commemorate the 143rd year since the founding of the Knights of Columbus, established in 1882 at St. Mary’s Parish, New Haven, Connecticut by Blessed Michael J. McGivney.

From humble beginnings, the Order has grown into a global Catholic fraternity dedicated to charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.

🙏 In celebration of this historic day, Samar College Council proudly joins the worldwide brotherhood by welcoming new 2nd Degree Worthy Brothers, following this morning’s 2nd Degree Exemplification at Barangay San Andres Chapel.

The 2nd Degree, which focuses on the principle of Unity, is a vital step in a Knight's journey. It deepens a brother’s understanding of the Order’s mission and strengthens the bonds of brotherhood. It’s not just a ceremony — it’s a commitment to stand together in faith and service.

For those who have not yet pre-registered, you may still register by completing the Google form and proceeding directly to secure and complete the KofC Form 100 starting Monday, March 24, 2025, at the SC Criminology Booth, 4th floor, admin building.

Today, the Knights of Columbus Samar College Council held its Monthly Assembly meeting for the month of March.

During the meeting, we discussed important matters such as the upcoming 1st Degree Exemplification and other future activities and projects for the council.

These meetings are essential in strengthening our brotherhood, aligning our goals, and planning meaningful initiatives that will serve both our members and the community. They give us the opportunity to reflect, organize, and ensure that we continue living out the values of charity, unity, and fraternity.

Please be reminded that the Assembly Meeting for the council is held every last Sunday of the month.
