The San Roque Parish Social Communications Commission (PASCCOM) of San Roque Parish, Catarman, Camiguin Province joyfully joins the whole Church in celebrating the 60th World Communications Sunday, a special occasion that invites the faithful to reflect on the power of communication in the life of the Church. For 2026, the Holy Fatherโs message is โPreserving human voices and faces,โ a call to keep communication truly human, truthful, and rooted in dignity, even in a world increasingly shaped by technology.
World Communications Day is the only worldwide celebration called for by the Second Vatican Council through Inter Mirifica, and it is traditionally observed on the Sunday before Pentecost. It is a moment for the Church to encourage prayer, reflection, and action so that media and communication may always serve the Gospel, build communion, and promote the common good.
This celebration is important because communication shapes how people understand truth, form relationships, and encounter the Church. In todayโs digital age, the Church continues to remind us that media should not only inform, but also uplift, connect, and witness to Christ with honesty and charity. Through words, images, livestreams, stories, and online presence, communication becomes a powerful tool for evangelization and service.
In this mission, PASCCOM faithfully serves as the communications arm of San Roque Parish and the team that handles the parishโs official page. Through parish updates, photo and video documentation, live broadcast, creative media work, and digital outreach, the commission helps keep the parish community informed, connected, and spiritually united. Their ministry is a quiet but meaningful service that brings the life of the parish closer to the people, both within and beyond the church walls.
We also gladly introduce the dedicated PASCCOM members who continue to serve the parish with commitment, creativity, and faith:
