The Holy Mass is the highest act of worship offered to God. It is the re-presentation of Christ's Sacrifice on Calvary and a sacred encounter with Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist.
For this reason, the Church has always valued silence before and after Mass as a means of fostering prayer, reverence, and recollection.

Before Mass begins, silence helps us leave behind the distractions of daily life and focus our minds and hearts on God.
It is a time to pray, examine our conscience, and prepare ourselves to participate worthily in the Sacred Mysteries.

The church building is not merely a gathering hall. It is the House of God, where Christ is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.
Maintaining silence is a sign of respect and adoration before the Real Presence of Jesus.

After receiving Our Lord in the Eucharist, silence allows us to converse with Him heart to heart.
It is a privileged moment for thanksgiving, adoration, and intimate prayer with the One who has come to dwell within us.

When Mass has ended, many faithful immediately turn to conversation and activity. Yet remaining for a few moments in prayer is a beautiful tradition of the Church.
These moments of thanksgiving help us reflect on the graces received and strengthen our resolve to live the Gospel.

The world is filled with noise, distractions, and constant activity. The church should remain a place where souls can encounter God in prayerful silence.
Before Mass, prepare your heart.
After Mass, give thanks.
And in the silence, listen for the voice of the Lord.
