OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DIOCESE OF MASBATE ON THE PASSING OF MOST REV. JOSE S. BANTOLO D.D.

It is with deep sorrow that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Masbate announces the passing of the MOST REVEREND JOSE SALMORIN BANTOLO D.D., Bishop of Masbate.

Bishop Bantolo was called to eternal rest on December 13, 2025 at around 10:36 pm at the age of 65.

He served the faithful of the Diocese of Masbate with devotion and grace for 14 years. We give thanks for his life of service and selfless leadership.

We extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to his family and to all the faithful of Masbate.

Details of his Wake and Funeral will be announced later.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Behold! The Logo for our 12th Fiesta Celebration in honor of Our Lady of Peñafrancia at the Parish of St. Vincent Ferrer, Cataingan, Masbate.
With the theme ‘Walking with Christ, Guided by Ina,’ this logo reflects our faith journey with Christ as our leader, and with Ina, our loving Mother, guiding us always.

The logo for the 12th Fiesta Celebration to Our Lady of Peñafrancia reflects the theme:
“Walking with Christ, Guided by Ina.”

• The three figures with Christ show the faithful journeying together, with Christ as the leader of our path.
• The path leading to the 12th represents the twelve years of devotion and the continuous journey of faith.
• The cross is the heart of our Christian life, reminding us of Christ’s sacrifice and love.
• The dove is a sign of the Holy Spirit, bringing peace, guidance, and blessing to the community.
• Ina, Our Lady of Peñafrancia, looking at the dove shows her openness to God’s will and her role as our guide through the Spirit.
• The Child Jesus sleeping in Ina’s arms shows peace, trust, and comfort in the care of a loving mother.
• Ina herself stands as the mother of faith, covering her children with protection and leading them closer to Christ.
