It was never about the meat. The Quran itself confirms this in Surah Al-Hajj: it is not their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is your taqwa that reaches Him. The udhiyah is a reenactment of Ibrahim's complete surrender. You take something of value that you own and you hand it over in the name of Allah. The scholars said the intention at the moment you pronounce His name is what transforms a physical act into an act of profound worship. Without that intention, it is slaughter. With it, it is one of the greatest acts of obedience in the Islamic year.

We cannot choose the moment. We cannot choose the circumstances. What we can choose is the state we are building toward right now, in this ordinary day. This ayah is not designed to terrify. It is an invitation to live with intention. To ask before the day begins: if this is the last one, is this how I want to be found? Not in anxiety about death. In purposefulness about how you live. The difference between those two responses is the entire difference.

The Gardens of Paradise contain things that no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard nor has it been even imagined by anyone. There are flowing rivers of milk and honey in Jannah with the purest taste inconceivable to human beings. Allah gives examples of these rewards in Jannah to everyone who abstains from the forbidden pleasures of this world.
