We do not baptize in the name of Jesus Christ to be different, we baptize this way because it is the only Bible way.
Jesus commanded baptism in the # - Matthew 28:19 - not in the titles. The Apostles who heard Jesus directly understood that NAME is JESUS and they obeyed it in Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5 and Acts 22:16.[singular]
There is even one place in the entire Bible where anyone was ever baptized saying the words "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" after Jesus died. Not one.
If our baptism is wrong, then Peter was wrong, Philip was wrong, and Paul was wrong. But if they were right, then modern churches who use titles are wrong.
We take the Apostolic stand: One Lord, one faith, one baptism - Ephesians 4:5 - and that one baptism is in the one saving name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins.
This is not church doctrine. This is Bible doctrine.
