Kahit hindi ka masyadong relihiyoso o hindi pa ganoon ka-practicing, take time to learn about DHUL HIJJAH, because these ten blessed days might become the reason Allฤh changes your life for the better.
-Bakit napakahalaga ng first ten days nito?
-At alin ang mas mainam: the ten days of Dhul Hijjah or the last ten nights of Ramadhฤn?
In Islam, we have 12 months in the Hijrฤซ calendar, and the 12th month is called Dhul Hijjah (ุฐู ุงูุญุฌุฉ).
Dhul Hijjah is not just another ordinary month in Islam. Isa ito sa pinaka-blessed na panahon for 'ibฤdah, forgiveness, and good deeds.
But whatโs beautiful about this month is that the blessings are not only for the people performing Hajj. Kahit nasa bahay ka lang, busy sa school, work, or personal life, you can still gain huge rewards from Allฤh through good deeds during these days.
According to authentic hadฤซths, the good deeds done during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are among the most beloved deeds to Allฤh. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ said that there are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allฤh than these ten days.
The Sahฤbah even asked him, โNot even jihฤd?โ and he replied: not even jihฤd; except for a man who went out with his life and wealth and never returned.
One important thing people sometimes misunderstand is this: the hadฤซth mentions all ten days, not just one specific day.
Minsan kasi sa socmed, ang focus lang ng iba ay ang first day ng Dhul hijjah, ang Day of โArafah (9th day). Totoong sobrang special ng mga araw na iyon, pero the entire ten days are blessed and important. The reward mentioned in the hadฤซth is connected to striving throughout the whole ten days with worship and good deeds.
So during these days, Muslims are encouraged to increase in Salฤh (prayer), Fasting, Dhikr (remembrance of Allฤh), Qurโan recitation, Sadaqah (charity), Tawbah (repentance), Helping others, And all kinds of righteous deeds.
--------
What makes these ten days so special?
1.Good deeds during these days are greater than jihฤd
This is one of the strongest virtues mentioned regarding these days.
2.The Day of โArafah is within these ten days
The 9th day of Dhul Hijjah is called Yawm โArafah, and it is considered one of the greatest days of the entire year.
Para naman sa mga hindi nagha-hajj, fasting on this day is highly recommended. According to the hadฤซth, Allฤh forgives the sins of the previous year and the coming year for the one who fasts sincerely.
3.These are the days of Hajj
These days are also known as Ayyฤm al-Maโlลซmฤt (ุงูุฃูุงู
ุงุช) mentioned in the Qurโan because they are the well-known days of the Hajj season.
4.โEid al-Adha is also within these ten days
------
Which is better:
the ten days of Dhul Hijjah or the last ten nights of Ramadhan?
First opinion: May mga 'Ulamฤ' na nagsasabi na ang ten days of Dhul Hijjah ay mas mainam kaysa sa ten days ng Ramadhฤn, habang ang ten nights of Ramadhฤn naman ay mas mainam kaysa ten nights ng Dhul Hijjah dahil naroon ang Laylat al-Qadr.
โWa layฤlin โashrโ โBy the ten nights.
Third opinion: May ilan ding 'Ulamฤ' na nagsasabing equal lamang sila.
------
REMINDER:
At the end of the day, a true believer tries to take advantage of every blessed season in Islam. Ramadhฤn is not the only time to reconnect with Allฤh. These ten days of Dhul Hijjah are also a huge opportunity for spiritual growth, forgiveness, and reward.
Kaya habang nandito pa ang mga araw na ito, let us try our best, even through small acts of worship.
