"UNBIBLICAL PLACE"
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, Purgatory is “a place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in God's grace, are not entirely free from "venial faults" or have NOT FULLY PAID the satisfaction due to their transgressions.” Moreover, there are two kinds of sin in their doctrine. Mortal Sin excludes people from Heaven and causes spiritual death in Hell which is in reference from 1 John 5:17, while Venial Sin doesn't exclude people from Heaven, it is a “sin that can be forgiven" which is in reference from 1 John 5:16. Those who commit venial sin is saved already BUT they cannot enter Heaven, for there is nothing UNCLEAN will enter it [Heaven]... (Revelation 21:27).
This has something to do with their soteriology or what we called as the doctrine of salvation. Since they believe that a person is saved, by means of doing good works, by means of being a good person, aside from faith. Therefore, it follows logically, na sila rin mismo ang nagbabayad ng mga kasalanan nila, by means of doing good works.
Contrary to their doctrine, the Bible tells us that all of us have sinned and fallen shortly of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23). There is no such thing as Venial Sin, lahat ng kasalanan ay Mortal Sin, lahat ay grevious offense laban sa Banal na Diyos. Sin is not measured based on what sin we committed but sin is measured based on whom we have sinned and the Scriptures is clear that we have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23). Kahit na isipin pa natin na sobrang liit lang ng naggawa nating kasalanan, it is still sin, even white lies, for ALL liars will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8).
The concept of Purgatory presents an unbiblical picture of God’s payment for sin. Therefore, no matter how many good works we do, no matter how many Laws of God we obey, no matter how we prayed for the souls in Purgatory, God will not forgive us nor them, if there is no blood that was shed and His WRATH is not yet satisfied. God is Just and Righteous and He will by no means, leave the guilty unpunished (Exodus 34:7, Nahum 1:3).
Fortunately, God who is rich in mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who never committed any sin (1 Peter 2:22), who lives a perfect life and fulfills the whole Law (Matthew 5:17), who is the only propitiation for our sins (1 John 2:2). Jesus already paid the sins of those who believe in Him, hindi lang hulugan at need mo pa bayaran 'yung kulang, dahil binayaran na ni Jesus nang BUO kaya wala na tayong dapat na bayaran at linisin pa. He cancels the charge against those who believe in Him by nailing it to the cross (Colossians 2:14), with a loud voice in agony as He shout the words: TETELESTAI! "It is finished" (John 19:30).
Jesus already suffered, He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus suffered for our sins so that we could be delivered from suffering. To say that we must also suffer for our sins is to say that Jesus’ suffering was insufficient. To say that we must atone for our sins by cleansing in Purgatory is to deny the sufficiency of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. There is no such thing as Purgatory, it is a heresy. Those who will repent of their sins and believe the Gospel will be in Heaven and those who will not REPENT will be in Hell, for the wrath of God remains upon them (John 3:36).
